There is an alternative course of action. It could include the adoption of the principles of sovereign equality and indivisibility of security, the abandonment of the policy of sanctions and tariffs, the end of the blocking of the work of the WTO Dispute Settlement Body, and agreement to the redistribution of voting quotas to the IMF.

I read this with a great smile, it is as if he was making a 'funny' while being dead serious. Pearls, swine, etc. for the West.

Grad Karl, thanks! I was a bond arbitrage trader back in the day. Also back in the day you traded based on govt data as it was trusted. But come 2008 and the great financial crisis my eyes were awoken to the fact that all the numbers/data were totally faked so they could be used to keep the narrative alive of the empires greatness. For years at a site called silicon investor I spoke up to the fact that GDP is nothing but a govt concocted data point. Our government is but a mafia family acting as a government. OBL actually succeeded in bankrupting amerika, we were just to blinded by the propaganda to realize anything different

When you read Hudson’s “Super Imperialism,” you’ll learn that the USA was broke in 1972 when Nixon went off the gold standard. It’s been all fiat since.

excellent article. Living in Canada I know it is just a matter of time before we go down the tubes with the Americans.

Our new Pm from Brookfield and the WEF wouldn't even consider looking toward the BRICS . Instead he talks about joining the bankrupt EU

IMO, Canada needs neither the EU or USA. What it needs is its own thing and the political will to make that reality.

There’s an excellent if long essay by Dr. Hudson at Naked Capitalism today that I commented upon at MoA:

The Hudson essay is long but very useful for those unsure of how we got to our current dilemma and the potential way out. Standing together in solidarity and not wavering in the face of Trump's Trade/Tariff War while creating parallel international institutions that bypass Imperial control is the winning strategy. One other major event will need to be the joint renunciation of odious debt by the many nations so afflicted. Again, the key is acting together. https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2025/07/michael-hudson-todays-civilizational-conflict.html

"Everything is logical: since the American system in its current form is not self-sufficient, it will continue to demand sacrifices on the side. At the same time, there are no signs of the Americans' readiness to negotiate on an equal footing."

America is a vampire. And like a vampire, its hunger for sucking the (economic) blood of others cannot be quench.

Appeasing America's economic extortion campaign like Trump's tariff threats will only embolden it to demand more blood.

What is it that Vlad Putin himself said? The West's vampire in ball is ending.

The Vampire Ball is ending for the US Empire
