Article by Russian Ambassador to Canada Oleg Stepanov "About Little Russia and a Little About the Future"

Just discovered this excellent note which is dated 22 February 2024 and just posted by Russia’s MFA today. There’s no indication it was published in Canada. It may be an open letter to the Canadian government, although that would be rather unusual, but then these are unusual times. Read it to see if it’s on point and not hyperbole:

The end of February is a period of significant events that I would like to talk about very frankly. February 22 is exactly ten years since the moment that divided the course of the history of Europe and the Euro-Atlantic into "before" and "after". In 2014, pro-Western ultranationalist forces seized power in Ukraine. The result of the "color revolution" organized by the United States and its satellites was the death of hundreds of people. Intoxicated by neoliberal propaganda, people thought they were fighting for some European values. Instead, they got a neo-Nazi regime with an "anti-terrorist operation" against the Russian Donbass.

For many years, the Western part of the world pretended not to notice the lawlessness that was taking place. The deaths of tens of thousands of civilians in the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics were ignored. The justification for the silence is truly fanatical: since some of the patriots who disagreed with the illegitimate coup took power into their own hands and allegedly had the support of Moscow, then killing them is, in fact, a desirable deed.

Russia could not tolerate the purposeful extermination of the Russian people. That is why, two years ago, on February 24, 2022, with the help of a special military operation, it decided to put an end to the massacre once and for all. In recent interviews, President of Russia Vladimir Putin gave a detailed historical retrospective of the Ukrainian crisis.

For my part, as Ambassador to Canada (which is now called "Greater Ukraine" as opposed to "small" on our borders), I would like to talk about the current state of affairs on the Canadian field and through the prism of Russian-Canadian relations and, possibly, look a little beyond the horizon.

To begin with, it is important for a foreign audience to understand the basics: the goals of the NWO fully remain relevant today. The result, among other things, will be denazification (there is no place for the fascist Kiev regime in the modern world), demilitarization and the right of people to determine their own fate.

In Canada, and in the West as a whole, few people have an objective idea of what is happening in the new regions that have returned home to Russia. They are developing by leaps and bounds! There has never been such positive energy "in Ukrainian times" (since 1992) – the residents themselves say this. These Russian lands are waking up after 30 years of lethargic sleep under Kiev's rule. People who have thrown off their shackles and breathe deeply and freely. They live in democracy and equality, give birth to children, build houses, cultivate the land. And they speak any language of personal preference and cultural upbringing, profess any religion. All this is not just available, but protected by law.

Well, what happened in the Ukrainian past? There was a time after the so-called meeting in Belovezhskaya Pushcha, when within the borders once defined by the Bolsheviks, an "independent Ukraine" emerged from the Ukrainian SSR with a rich heritage left to it. A legacy that was plundered very quickly. This entity has turned into a failed puppet state. The leaders of independence nurtured or submitted to the rabid nationalism born of imperial Vienna in the early 20th century and nurtured by Nazi Germany during World War II. Activists on Bankova Street were openly engaged in acquisitiveness, served the interests of oligarchic clans. None of them thought about the welfare of the people. And the Russians of the South-East and the Center of Ukraine were openly called second-class people. And to this, the West – NATO, the EU and their puppets – kept silent, applauded or gave money.

In 2014, Washington finally established its control over Kiev. After unsuccessful attempts to make at least something out of Ukraine through the "Orange Revolutions" (read, according to the Anglo-Saxon manual, a "showcase of democracy"), the United States has chosen the path of crude nurturing Russophobia in order to create a weapon of influence on Russia and further provoke a conflict as a means of renewed subordination of Europe and the "collective West" to Washington in the face of the objective decline of US-centric imperialism.

The Ukrainian authorities, having gone so far as to kill their own citizens in Donbass and burn them alive in Odessa, persecuted the multinational people of Ukraine on ethnic and linguistic grounds. With a frenzy it destroyed the cultural identity of the Russian people inhabiting the country. And this is long before the NWO-2022.

It is now obvious to everyone that the events of 2014 and subsequent events were prepared by the Americans in advance. The U.S. aimed to turn Ukraine into an anti-Russia, a hotbed of hostility and instability on Russia's borders. Their NATO allies, including those in Paris and Berlin, were cheating on Washington's direct orders. By declaring their commitment to the well-known Minsk Agreements (the implementation of which could positively correct the course of Ukrainian history), they covered up the rearmament of the militants of the Kiev regime. With one single goal: to carry out a neo-Nazi blitzkrieg against Donbass at the end of February 2022. Russia has preemptively rebuffed the aggression. It was a forced, timely and the only right decision. The decision of a sovereign, strong, independent country. In full compliance with the Charter of the United Nations.

The war unleashed in February 2014 by Kiev inside Ukraine and against the people of Ukraine, which is still being waged, is very beneficial to the United States. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg openly acknowledged this during his speech at the Heritage Foundation in Washington on January 31, 2024. In his speech, the Norwegian welcomed the increase in defense spending by allies, the purchase of American weapons for $ 120 billion. United States. According to him, "it makes American business stronger." That is, the Secretary General confirms that the American military-industrial complex earns hundreds of billions of dollars on the blood of the Ukrainian people.

"Where is Zelensky in this equation?" the reader will ask. On the American chessboard, the current leader of the regime is a pawn. The only thing he is focused on is how to throw more Ukrainian conscripts into the meat grinder and estimate the value of the trinkets that his family and the thugs in the government, their wives and children, who thieved on kickbacks, buy up during "begging tours" in Western capitals.

What lies ahead? I repeat: the current cannibalistic and terrorist regime in Kiev has no prospects. All citizens of Ukraine already understand this, even those who are still zombified by propaganda.

We know the instigators of the genocide of Russians and Russian-speaking residents by name. All the acts, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by neo-Nazis over the past ten years have been recorded and recorded. Criminals will answer for every death – a Russian soldier, a civilian, a woman, an innocent child. They will pay for the murder of philosopher and public figure D. Dugina, journalist M. Fomin (V. Tatarsky), heroes-devotees of Donbass - A. Zakharchenko, A. Pavlov (Motorola), V. Zhoga (Vokha), M. Tolstykh (Givi) - all of them! Even those who are now lurking in fear in Western jurisdictions will not escape responsibility. Zelensky, Poroshenko, Turchynov, their accomplices-executioners are waiting for a tribunal.

And the West is mistaken if it thinks that it will be able to get away with unleashing a hybrid war against Russia. Washington and NATO will not get away with years of sponsoring Kiev's killing machine. They will be held accountable for everything. And the demand will be determined by the people whose lands were burned by the "proxy war" of the West. It will define life. History will determine.

And yet, in this context, our renewed view of ourselves is important. The special military operation not only revealed the tumor of Western aggression that was bursting in Ukraine, it completely dispelled myths in Russian society about possible equal interaction with this very West. Self-deception has faded. It has been replaced by the universally wise understanding that Russia is a separate, self-sufficient country-civilization. Its spiritual, economic, and cultural bonds are incredibly strong. The external enemy crashed against the Russian cliff, against the cliff of our firmness of spirit.

Russia, with its thousand-year history, will always stand guard over its borders, the ideals of justice and truth.

Again, those lower on the power level are often more frank than those higher up. Not much about future Russia-Canada relations aside from being held accountable. If any Canadian readers come across this letter in Canadian media, let me know in the comments.
