ASI is the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and one of its innovative ideas was to promote citizen involvement in the provision of strong ideas for the new time.
interesting overview karl.. thanks... i was drawn again to what the west obsesses about - this paragraph - "By the way, we are quite tolerant of people of non-traditional sexual orientation. We just don't stick it out and don't think it's the right thing to stick it out. Let all adults live as they want, no one restricts them in anything. But as for the children, I have already said many times, do not touch the children. That's all. This is the first one."
regarding russias emphasis on 'traditional values'... what exactly are they? as i understand it - family values within the traditional context of raising children - having families and honouring this as the basis building block of any society.. here in the west our leaders are trying to turn this upside down embracing the lgbtq+ in all levels... as i see it lgbtq+ are being pushed to the forefront and mainstream and family values are not being discussed any in our society.. maybe putin means more when he mentions 'traditional values', but that is what i take it to mean.. maybe it includes going to church on sundays.. i don't know.. either way - we have a mainstream in the west, but it is being ignored and replaced with this obsession on lgbtq+... that is how it looks to me... no wonder our society is falling apart.. we have our values all mixed up.. and i have no issue with the lgbtq+ either... on the other hand our politicians here are pushing it 24-7 and narry a word on 'traditional or family values' is mentioned ever...
Patriotism is the big one. Putin has explained the interrelationship between respect for the Motherland/Fatherland and that for families and communities. the basic power center is the family and then the institutions that grow from it to support all families--the commonwealth/community. The aim of Cancel Culture--indeed, all divide and rule schemes--is to destroy those basic inner ties that empower people and communities. Putin sees it for what it is--a threat to the fundamental basis for society. The four main religions within Russia get along primarily because none of them prosthetalize saying they are the one true religion. The same goes for promoting lgbtg dogma, which is ideological and aims to say that it's the one true way of behaving. Promoting ideologies isn't the same as advertising laundry soaps--our product is better--because it doesn't aim to upset the social structure.
In Russia, people are free to choose what to believe in and what to say as long as what's said isn't subversive--extremist--to the social order. In Russia, you're also free to debate the pros and cons of different political-economies and a Communist Party still exists and is more popular than the remaining Liberal parties primarily because those parties don't have the promotion of people as their main focus, which is why United Russia is the #1 party, and it's unsurprising that the CPRF votes with it often.
