Borrell borrowed that garden analogy from Ariel Sharon who, as I recall it. described Israel as a 'Villa in the jungle.'

Monticello was pretty well the same thing.

Borrell’s metaphor of the jungle vs the garden goes beyond its terms. A garden is the exclusion of all life for the inclusion of some life while the jungle is the inclusion of all live and absence of exclusion. This is the thinking “garden” that must die if the jungle, and all life, must survive. Fascists and zionists must be an endangered species and ultimately buried in the past. We might owe to the Ukrainians and Palestinians this burial.
