On 21 May, Lavrov was interviewed by Lavrov's by Zvezda TV channel for a documentary dedicated to Sergey Shoigu's 70th birthday using the concept of military diplomacy as the vehicle for the Q&A discourse.
It's not absolutely essential, of course, but if you really want to understand the Russians, visiting Russia is highly recommended. There's something earthy and powerful about that vast country that's impossible to forget, something that permeates you from head to toe. When I hear the word horizon, the first thing that comes to mind is Russia. And I don't just mean expanse, but depth. I understand Russians when they refer to their country as Mother Russia; it's powerful and fertile like a woman's womb. Of all the countries I've visited, Russia is the one that has left the deepest mark on me, an advantage that today allows me to better understand Russians, their politics, and their representatives. There I met the most hospitable and wonderful people I've ever known. May life bless them and fill them with happiness.
And thank you very much, Karl, for keeping us informed about such important events and for your brilliant emphasis.
Nobody ever knows the full story from an armchair position but my impression of Shoigu was one of incompetence at the beginning of the SMO and later all of the sackings in top military positions on his watch due to the high level of corruption within the armed forces.
Also Prigozhin IMO wasn't too far off the mark.
Obviously he has Putin's trust as witness the hunting holidays they took together, however, he thankfully got rid of him and brought in a far superior MoD.
Thank you Karl. Yes, the initial plan worked but imo the leadership group faltered at the very point when a major reinforcement would have secured immense territory and potentially a devastating psychological gain. But then the entire group made the choice to withdraw rather than hold and reinforce. I guess it was a group decision but I doubt it was unanimous. So then the process reverted to the attrition and exhaustion of the nazi, military and combined West over time. This is clearly the case today for all three of those elements. Bojo helped of course but then the Russian modus operandi was exposed to that form of stymy and obstruction.
However with the passing of time, the entire Russian military and social cohesion factor has strengthened and the collective seems much stronger today then those few years back. The Western colour revolution vanguard in Russia appears to be virtually smothered in a resurgent existential commitment to Russian survival as free and independent of the Westies. The technology of war has changed in the most extraordinary ways unforseen at 2022 and much of it in Russia's favour.
I guess if it took Russia 21 Years to defeat Sweden then we are witnessing a similar feat against the entire Western Vampire Squid Capitalist model in favour of Sovereign People and States model. My thought is when do we start counting the years to this victory? From Putins first election in 1999? If so then the record is beaten by this mighty fine team.
I see the War as being restarted in 1945. In 1990-92, Russia was knocked down for an 8-count but rose up and continued to fight. in 2000, Russia added China to its corner, and form there on it was clearly going to be a complete recovery by Russia and then winning in a very stunning fashion. However, unless there’s a very vast paradigm change in US elite POV, a rematch will happen at some point. IMO, it will take several centuries of not being #1 to cure the US of its megalomania and pleonexia.
Yes I know Karl, Shoigu flipped between suit and uniform. I think Gerasimov is a genius and Russian Officers way superior to US/NATO counterparts as Martyanov states frequently..
Belousov would be aware that Material wasn't arriving as meant to the frontline due to incompetence or corruption and this was Wagner's/Pregozhin's beef.
The triumvirate of Larry C, Andrei and Garland provides for the most entertainment on the internet.
Dima should cut his output to one show a day, maybe inviting 2 guests say Larry C & Col. Wilkerson rather than 3/4 shows with the same questions to near identical mindsets.
How come I don't see you appearing as a guest?
Maybe you're like me, camera shy, despite being a smooth talking hunk. LOL
I may be somewhat well known in certain circles, otherwise I’m a cipher. I get exposure whenever Hudson does his quarterly Patreon chats for about 15-minutes or so. We have an email relationship, and he subscribes to the Gym. To properly do a Nima chat requires lots of prep, same with the Judge, unless you’re an Escobar and can just talk about your travels and what they reveal.

Must remember the MoD isn’t the General Staff, and the initial SMO plan was also a group decision that worked except for Bojo’s intervention.

Martyanov went off on the Pregozhin incident in his chat with Garland NIxon yesterday saying everything isn’t as it appears as portrayed in Western media. https://smoothiex12.blogspot.com/2025/05/later-today-garland.html
As far as I know, Russia’s Prosecutor’s Office still has an ongoing investigation into all of that.

Well I've been reading you at MoA for years, used to comment but for some reason can't post there for 4 years or so.
Nothing I actually said but there was a time when bots were disrupting that site, Bernard cleaned it up and for reasons unknown I got sucker-punched.
With many stars posting it was you who stood out most.
