Yesterday in Moscow, Lavrov held extensive talks with Armenia’s FM Ararat Mirzoyan, after which a joint presser was held where Lavrov gave a detailed report that illustrated relations aren’t as dire as many have presumed given the behavior of PM Pashinyan and his dalliances with the EU.
Thanks, Karl - as always. Good point about the 'media' - although we need to be aware that playing a negative role is not the sole prerogative of Western media; if you follow some of the garbage in the Russian media, you'll know what I mean.
There’s garbage everywhere. I turn on my computer and am immediately confronted by some. I don’t envy those tasked with having to parse it on a daily basis.
As the questions showed, how relations are perceived via the media lens are important and Russia needs to be better attuned to that reality.
One of the nails hit on the head. Thank you, Karl!
Lavrov is a gem beyond compare. I wonder how a private discussion with Trump would fare. DJT is not always off the wall and I believe that the first assassination attempt on him had an impact (no pun intended). We will likely never know.
Lavrov is a true diplomat, Trump not so much, they communicate completely different, I think they would not be able to understand each other fully, on the other hand, I could see Trump getting along in a good working relationship with Xi Jinping quite well as they probably think very similarly. But that is just speculation, who knows, for sure we gonna see some surprising developments over the next little while.
Thank you Marcus. I read that Menadue link and was somewhat gobsmacked at the vague and mealy mouthed phraseology. That was a mouthful of wishful thinking, willful dodging and meticulous evading of a roomful of parading chest thumping gorillas. But it was a start and perhaps empathy is yet to be found and engaged in the Trump mind. Time will tell.
There was interesting info provided by several analysts I follow in their discussions today dealing with Iran and beyond while Team Trump declared Anasarallah a terrorist org, elevating it to peerage with the Outlaw US Empire. There's something afoot in that region. IMO it has to do with energy, raw and generated. And then there's the NSITC.
Thank You !

Hmm.... I thought about your muse for about 5 minutes and couldn't conceive of any topic they might engage in.

This something I'm following seems relevant to your posting Karl.
