Interesting comments from Lavrov on nukes and Ukraine war/ethnic Russians/Nazis.

BUT on stopping Israel-US's ongoing genocide of Palestine, I'm disappointed to hear the same old expressions of censure/concern with no action, ie just rhetoric. Lavrov concluded his Israel remarks by saying: "The international community must use all the political and legal tools that we have at our disposal to achieve this goal" -- stopping the bloodshed. So where are the SANCTIONS?

i keep hoping Russia/China are working behind the scenes to stop Israel -- missiles/tech to Iran to Hezbollah maybe? Negotiations? But Israel just intensifies its assaults and atrocities. War of attrition is a fine strategy for Ukraine, but there won't be anything left of Gaza and Palestinians when Israel finally collapses.

Of interest that Lavrov confirmed the USC members haven't actually seen the so-called US-Israel ceasefire resolution they just voted yes to. I get why Russia abstained. And he said unified Palestine, aka Gaza & West Bank, must participate in determining what happens to state of Palestine, not just have other countries broker it. Great -- but again, there won't be anything left at this rate. This is an unimaginably barbaric level of trauma and destruction that US and Israel are inflicting on Palestinians.

it is easy to conclude any number of things on all of what is happening on the world stage... maybe the bad actors can indeed drag everyone down and there ain't a whole lot that can be done about that.. what does russia do, short of making war on israel as well?? use tough words?? i can't see that doing anything... at some point one hopes that the whole world will see what an ugly thing this experiment called israel has been and opt for leadership which stops it... at present the usa still has undue influence and power over a number of important levers of power - not all, but many... until the usa changes, israel will not change.. the power is in the usa's hands and it is fast deteriorating.... we can welcome what this means if the trend continues - and i believe it will..

Given the BRICS+ Statement the world wants it stopped but only the non-state actors are filling the leadership void that ought to be the domain of Russia/China. If those two said to the Zionists--Stop, or else--IMO the Zionists would stop. But there doesn't appear to be any intestinal fortitude to utter those three words.

I find myself in a type of self-imposed 'hypocrisy trap'. On the one hand I think it great that you provide so much long-hand material from Putin and Lavrov themselves. On the other hand, it is usually so long that I avoid reading it and wish you could provide a short, pithy summary so that I don't have to work so hard myself!

Anyway, your work is appreciated .

I find generating a "short, pithy summary" rather difficult, and often there's too much detail to do so.

well lavrov isn't messing around pussy footing around stuff is he? as to him commenting on a solution to the zionist ideology - it appears that is a tough one to address.. i am not sure how russia maintains good relations with israel in it's present form and given what israel is doing.. but then i tend to always see usa and israel actions tied at the hip, so addressing one is addressing the other.. in fact, i tend to be an ''economic determinist'' as pat lang loved to call me... maybe money isn't everything, but it counts for a lot in the world of power and for those who get to call the shots on the world stage.. i am not sure how to change it... i wish brics well and russia well too...i naively believe they are guided by a more just and positive vision for the future.. the one we have now with these lunatics in the west doesn't resemble anything similar.. thanks karl..
