big room!

i liked what you said near the end karl.. i will requote it here -

"It’s excellent to see the growth of the point that as with flowers, there are many different types of humans but at root we are all the same type and can thus share our genetic material, which is why we are a single species without exception."

thanks..

Selected quotes:

Intercultural and intercivilizational communication and relations are the hallmarks of the Multipolar World.....What seems new really isn’t as it’s been present for centuries.

When a new world order is being formed that reflects the diversity of the entire planet, and this natural process is irreversible...harmonious development in accordance with their traditions and based on national interests....respecting the right of each State to its own sovereign course, to its own worldview, to its own traditions and religious beliefs.

Quotes from “The Emerging Multicivilizational World”:

Whereas it is en vogue to refer to the emerging world as a “Multipolar World”, it would be more accurately described as the “Multicivilizational World”. This is nothing new, as it was historically the tradition to accept and respect “the other’s” civilization.

Thus, from antiquity until colonialism aka “Age of Discovery” the world was multicivilizational, and the norm was respecting “the other”.

From the ashes of colonialism and neocolonialism the multicivilizational world is reemerging.

Escobar calls it "Multi-nodal" but also has highlighted the multi-civilizational aspect. My anthropological approach has me looking at the societies and cultures that are civilizational components, thus my flower metaphor.

Multi-nodal is democratization of Multi-polar.

Historically until the era of colonization the world was multi-civilizational, that was the norm for millennia. I try to explain this in:

I agree that the millennia prior to the Crusades the world was multi-civilizational and very rich in differences and similarities. There was a wide-spread understanding of the need to trade and interact with neighbors in a harmonious manner as most societies were communalistic. Your short essay's a worthy effort to detail what was normal until the abnormal age we're concluding commenced. The segment within a recent Hudson/Wolff/Nima show presided over by Wolff describes very well the psychology underpinning our abnormal age and begins about 1/4 of the way into the discussion; search for the word savage and you'll get to that section, https://michael-hudson.com/2024/10/sovereignty-in-crisis-israel-palestine-and-americas-global-agenda/

Since you insisted, I watched the video. Good Putin speech. The huge table is amazing. Not conducive for actual conversation but cool looking -- like something out of Kubrick's Space Odyssey.

Quite a diverse mix of ppl -- caucasian, asiatic, arab -- but it's all men around the table.

There were more to add; so hard to choose. Amazing place and its history.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, more women needed!!! It's interesting to see how other nations have constructed their government places.

I think Putin is authentic. Unlike 99% of politicians worldwide. He says what he thinks and he does what he says. This assessment of him is the result of a very long observation of his career.

Such pictures are certainly very impressive and the speeches, well, okay, the usual in international diplomacy. But that's just the pretty surface. The really interesting thing is the hard and concentrated work behind the cameras, microphones and behind closed doors. For example, you mentioned the BRICS meeting in Kazan. You spoke of the association of a "mini-UNO". Putin spoke of a "new world order" and of "CIS, Eurasec, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS".

Everything is connected and World War 3 is directed against the BRICS and the unruly "global South" and ultimately the US and the West are concerned with reversing the current independence aspirations of the above.

In Europe, analysts are talking about an inevitable Russian victory over Ukraine and NATO. However, this does not mean that Europe will return to peace and order. Russia will create facts in the face of Western expansionist ambitions. Western Europe is in a state of economic, social, cultural and civilizational disintegration. It will not be able to defeat Russia in 50 years. But in the context of global war, the dangers for us in Europe are still great. Especially under an increasingly rabid empire that is fighting to maintain its global dominance.

In West Asia, a war seems to be brewing across the entire region. Another theater of war in this 3rd world war. Iran is the target and thus the BRICS and to force the Arab countries and Turkey back under the dictates of the US oligarchy.

This will greatly hinder the process or development of the BRICS projects. On the other hand, the "global South" will cooperate even more closely with the BRICS.

Whether an attack by the USA against China can still happen as planned is doubtful, at least in economic and mathematical terms. Both the two theaters of war, Europe and West Asia, will cause the socio-economy of the West to collapse, as will the internal contradictions.

You have to imagine it. It's not a nightmare, it's becoming a reality. In the EU and Germany, the line between censorship and inquisition has already been crossed and the UN is blowing the same horn. Now, analogue and online platforms are being initialized through which citizens can anonymously denounce their fellow citizens and are actively encouraged to do so.

Another penal paragraph is to be introduced. Statements and publications that "endanger the common good" can lead to a prison sentence of 3 to 10 years. The vague formulations used include any kind of criticism of politics, political parties, the government and state institutions. What if the prisons no longer have enough space? Will there then be "camps" again? I'm talking about Germany here, with its experience of "Hitler's Germany".

I already mentioned the UN. Russia and China want to save this organization. But it seems impossible.

Dark times and I think of "Mordor"

Russia and China aren't the only nations wanting to salvage what's good about the UN. The biggest problem I see is the presence of too many compradors not just in Europe but in West Asia specifically. I wrote a comment at Escobar's VK saying another Arab Revolt is needed for Arabs to free themselves from rulers who are actually traitors to the people. The Empire has very few tools remaining, mostly money printing to buy obedience or the promise not to invade if you do as you're told--Gangsterism 101--which IMO isn't what defines any nation as great.

A lovely picture of a rosy future -if only it weren't for the climate crisis.

Yes, China and Russia will largely be insulated from the economic collapse of the West as US Imperialism crumbles, however, BRICS will not be insulated from the climate crisis.

A rapid halting of fossil fuel burning (which includes methane producing 'natural' gas and which doesn't mean just an addition of renewable energy) and a decline in the consumption of animal products will mitigate a little, though a crisis is already set in motion.

Yes, Russia is trying to protect her environment but her per capita co2 emissions are the same as the energy guzzlers (15.1) of America.
