Putin puts the welfare of people first, which is what a leader does. By that criterion, the West mostly has no leaders. The Global Majority sees that quite well. Putin's United Russia Party is essentially a Populist Patriotic Party that's very community minded where Russians demonstrate they know the duties of a citizen with lots of direct involvement and feedback to governing authorities--both of which Putin encourages and cheers mightily. Very few in the West understand that about Russia--its level of civic pride is very high. Since the wife and I were both homeless for very short periods, we know what being on the street's like and do what we can to help locally because we do have people outdoors. In Portland it's very evident. My daughter can't find affordable housing in Tennessee despite essentially working two jobs. I consider myself very fortunate, as does my wife. The level of concern shown at the top level of government displays a massive gulf when Russia and the USA are compared where there's none in the latter while its discussed constantly in the former.
I despise any country being a superpower but have to be practical in wanting there to be superpowers. The plural allows hope for balance through tug-of-war, because one kid with all the sweets will eat them, whereas three kids would bicker whilst maybe not noticing that a sweet had fallen on the floor, and I'd taken it.
I want the USA to gets its shit together and be part of that counterbalance with China and Russia. Maybe one day, the other continents will get their shit together too.
But for the USA to be a healthier part of that equation, it needs to fall apart.
I've experienced tough times, know what its like to be hungry and fearful of violence, and the politicians fucked up the life I had, so I hurt when I see the downtrodden. It was a knife when I saw that woman on the ground trying to bring a water bottle to her mouth (Kensington video).
But the other part of me sees that kind of misery, citizen debt, hate groups, mass shootings, endless litigation, obesity etc. as the centre threatening to not hold. That's the closest I've got to the hope that America crashes to be reborn into something better. Of course, the danger is that the Public doesn't have an epiphany, and that a face plant instead leads to a more dystopian state. But that would require internal distraction, allowing more chance at that global balance.

Now, I'm only going by anecdotal bits from acquaintances in Brazil and El Salvador plus what I read, but it seems as though both RF and PRC are jostling for position South of the Border. One might wonder if/how/when some 'frictions' might be developing in the future between those two. I sense a rivalry in the offing.
There's lots of competition between Russia and China over many products and it's seen as healthy by both, and they still share a great amount too. Their ideals and methods are very similar. There's no reason that in 2-300 years they completely meld with the rest of Eurasia. Eventually there'll come a time when people will say they're Eurasian. That and more is possible if nukes don't fly.
The US thinks that the entire Western Hemisphere belongs to the US. For South America and Latin America to deviate from that prescribed path might incur punishment. Chinese investments there are already receiving opprobrium.
