Congratulations, Karl! First and foremost, thank you for what you do. It's appreciated. I've learned a ton from your articles, and you've opened my eyes to things even though I consider myself far better informed than most westerners.

Cheers! And keep up the good work!

We are very pleased with your gym. A geopolitical workout arena.

The potential goldrush from looting Russia has overpowered their cognitive and practical abilities.

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and insight! One suggestion regarding support: How about installing the possibility to pay you a coffee? I'd rather pledge a coffee from time to time than paying regularly.

I've thought of that. The Buy Me a Coffee people are the same financial group that manages substack's paid subscriptions. I'm also not clear on the terms of use ramifications for collecting support outside of substack's ability to get its cut. People have asked via email for a way to mail donations. Thanks for your feedback!

The paid subscription thing is understandable to me. On the one hand there are costs and on the other hand you have to eat. I think that's okay. My only dilemma in this regard is that I inform myself very broadly, from many sources, in order to make up my own mind afterwards. That would either mean that I have to pay for a lot of sources or that I have access to fewer and fewer sources.

I know of German authors who solve the problem with crowdfunding. The publications remain free. But readers either pay by standing order or by donation every now and then. Depending on how the individual is financially positioned. Of course, this requires a large readership. But it even works with platforms that offer professional film productions.

For this purpose and in the interest of the intention of the information, it would be great if a growing number of analysts and authors networked with each other. But all too often this fails because of the egos and characters of various authors who cannot tolerate other results of the analyses. I find that regrettable. Egos are out of place here.

Another topic. I'll just mention it briefly, even if it doesn't play a role here. Fortunately. Various analysts / experts are increasingly using the video format. That's a great thing. There is a great deal of interest in information and analysis worldwide. But many international consumers do not have sufficient language skills to understand conversations in audio. One solution would be to finance the following offer via donations:

www.video-translations.org

This offer seems to be more recent. The SaneVox channel in particular is very informative for me.

I can easily machine translate text and transcripts and the results are often sufficient for understanding. Like on the page here. But audio is the problem.

Now my comment is already very long. But it was important for me to express my opinion.

Thanks for your feedback. My intention is to keep the status quo but activate the pay system which I haven't yet despite the few pledges I've received, which are barely 2.5% of subscribers. Doubling that rate is my modest goal. I personally don't like paywalls and thus will never go 100% paid.

Happy anniversary! and yet not much has changed. The R's hate China

like the D's hate Russia but JDV seems to have many business dealings

w/China via one of his VC companies

The ME is exploding yet our feckless leaders show no courage whatsoever,

interesting times will only get more interesting unless of course humans

go nuclear

I like the number of daily views averaged over the past year. Seems very promising. I think it was 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' that suggested that 'quality' is something that everyone recognises when they come across it. As you say the quality of the comments stimulated by your articles compliment each other. Amazing how fast a year passes. Congratulations.
