Lavrov always throws out a unique comment. I enjoyed his “one story” America into a skyscraper comment. Macron is as always an idiot. It doesn’t sound like there are too many takers for sending troops to boost Ukraine.

Essentially, there are none that matter. Yes, the barking Baltics, but then they yap at most anything.

I think you should have highlighted this comment by Lavrov:

"which will include the supply of long-range weapons so that they reach deep into the territory of the Russian Federation, which in itself is suicidal (if all this is confirmed)."

That sounded to me like a direct threat to France. i.e. sending missiles to Ukraine that they would use to attack inside Russia would be considered by Russia as an act of war by France.

I haven't kept up: have the Russians applied any economic sanctions on western countries in retaliation for the West's sanctions?

Reciprocal as usual. There's a list. In the Siluanov interview I'm working on, the topic there is focused on the frozen assets and the implementation of the new clearance and transmittal system that will nullify the Western system and its illegal sanctions.

As for France's supplying Ukies with missiles capable of hitting Russia, they already have and were used to attack Crimea. Pretty much all sensible EU & NATO people distanced themselves from Macron's inanity. IMO, Macron's using Russia as an outlet for his domestic angst.

Thanks for the update on sanctions. Russia should impose heavier ones on France for Macron's remarks and let that "improve" his mood.

How refreshing once again to see a coherent statement of the issues.

As I read these words I can imagine global diplomats nodding their head appreciating the arguments in contrast to the platitudes from the West.

The West has won the media war but has also taken their rhetoric to constitute, in their minds, meaningful content.

Two points related to BIgLie Media that are dealt with by the Judge and Scott Ritter in their 5-minute discussion of Aaron's act, https://smoothiex12.blogspot.com/2024/02/scott-and-judge.html and then a longer, 22-minute exploration of the "Meat Assault" BS, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2F4akL1AS5w

There're also the views from the Global South that we don't get to read/see very often. The writer of this article's from Brazil but does his best in English to put forth a Global Southy POV, https://strategic-culture.su/news/2024/02/27/putin-reasons/

Agree about the article from the Brazilian.

Even before the glass was shattered on the purported morality and invincibility of the USA, the Global South clearly saw USA's destruction of countries since WWII. The USA will not be able to put the genie back in the bottle. Ukraine and Gaza are wake up calls.

Not sure when the alarms will be heard and no telling the response will be after USA's rules based order ends up in the trashcan.

Nice to hear/read Maria Zakharova again. Interesting contrast of the use of the word 'reciprocal' during her statements - like making an offer that cannot be refused, either because it is very advantageous or ... ;o)

Yes, her briefings have been sidelined by other events, but that won't happen today.
