Very soon the tribute system based on Dollar Hegemony will cease as that form of control withers away thanks to the elite's own actions. Reliance on a myth and the inability--unwillingness--to plan for the long haul will cause the USA to rapidly sink to the second tier of nations, which has already occurred in some regions.
I believe that some commentators, such as Professor Michael Hudson, have expressed the opinion that it will be almost impossible for the US economy to be re-industrialised. That's if the elites can even be persuaded to do so. Maybe third tier would be the destination.
