Can't thank you enough for these posts, it's like reading an entire history or even multiple histories in one place. Lavrov never fails to impress with the scope of his historical knowledge and ability to encapsulate the most relevant part of that history according to the question he's asked.

All Russian diplomats have similar faculties, which makes them formidable as an organization. Their training is the best on the planet, and they are seriously dedicated to the Truth.

"Sergey Lavrov: Have you just arrived?"

Acerbic, are we? LOL And appropriately so.

As for "pressitutes", well, Andrei Martyanov merely dismisses them as "low-life scum" and other phrases, which seem accurate as well. If you read Mein Kampf, even Hitler excoriated the press, albeit mostly because it was run by Jews (which it still is, apparently.) I suppose it's not surprising since it's a profession made up of people intent on poking their noses into other people's business for their own professional benefit. Nothing good can come of such a thing.

Yes, there is a need for people in general to know what's going on. That's called "intelligence" and "situational awareness" - not "news". You get that from professionals whose job it is to analyze and present facts to their clients on a contracted basis. If they're not factual and they get things wrong, they don't get paid.

The entire news media apparatus internationally is in my view a legitimate target for elimination by any means necessary. They are enemies of the people and allies of their oppressors. The fact that there are a few competent journalists who may be excepted because of their professionalism (people like Sy Hersh - although one notes that he gets most of his inside scoops from intelligence professionals) doesn't change that.

One there were many Muckrakers as they were known. I recall the saying that an agitator gets the dirt out. We once had great political cartoon strips in dailies nationally; today they'd get canceled, although a few still exist.

Lavrov's beatdown of the media should be framed for its repeated, acerbic spanking of the morons asking dumb questions. Brutal. But fabulous!

He's become more aggressive at that over the last three years. The photo of Lavrov at the presser which wasn't available when I wrote my article shows him glowering at the press.

"...IMO, Lavrov’s correct that the OSCE will die because NATO/EU want it to die..."

To be precise, OSCE has been on life support ever since it became NATO's tool for its expansionistic policies, a tool of control and domination for an organization that Macron declared "brain dead" four years ago, as Lavrov's enjoyable presser (thanks, Karl), which reads more like an exposé, let us know.

"...When is the only remaining question, although Russia will continue its participation as Lavrov announced."

Lavrov did not mince words, and from his introduction he cut to the chase.

"...We are witnessing the complete degradation of everything that was created in the Organisation (before that, within the framework of the Conference) in all three dimensions of security (military-political, economic-environmental and humanitarian). I won't give you any examples.

We have seen that our Western colleagues have not learned any lessons from their failed policy of destroying the OSCE. They continue to "finish it off" with a tenacity that deserves better use. Yesterday, 95 percent of our Western colleagues' speeches were devoted to this. Only a few sober voices reminded us that the Organization was created to cooperate and ensure mutual security. A lot has been done along the way..."

And, answering a question to one of the members of the large gathering of mentally impaired presstitutes,

"...Question (retranslated from English): Today you clearly said that you do not believe in the bright future of the OSCE. You are talking about the collapse of the Organization, about the fact that it no longer plays its key role. Do you plan to leave the Organization in this case?

Sergey Lavrov: Quote correctly. I said that I did not care how the current OSCE meeting ended.

I don't know where you got your education as a journalist. You asked whether we were planning to withdraw from the Organization, and I told you to quote me correctly. The quote was that I don't care how the current OSCE meeting ends..."

In other words, why beat a dead horse?

Through his answers, Lavrov expressed his contained anger for having wasted his time, knowing in advance that nothing tangible was going to result from this meeting. A skillful diplomat with an encyclopedic vocabulary, he could have used any other adjective to define the presence of the absence of the B&B (Blinken and Borrell) partners in crime.

I was surprised at this man, who I admire for his finesse, calling them "cowards," very apropos, IMHO.

Lavrov and his team of seasoned diplomats, beautiful Zakharova included, knew very well the meeting had been prepared in advance as an "ambush" for the Russian delegation, land mined territory, and the questions from the presstitutes were part of it. Lavrov came out shooting from the hip with those whose questions were clearly intended to slander and distort Russian positions.

An expert on more than just "Macedonia-Bulgarian" relations, he treaded a fine line on Israel, keeping to the "two states" official Russian policy on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, though he gave Lapid's hypocrisy and double standards a death by a thousand cuts.

Lavrov at his best, schooling the Collective West's clowns once more, his "slash and burn" presser compensated for the astronomical waste of time his attendance at the OSCE meeting meant.

Thanks again, Karl.

Lavrov's wit is the primary reason he gets censored. That appears to be a common trait within Russia's diplomatic corp. Too bad too few Westerners read the Russian POV, which is why I'm doing what I'm doing.

"I often wonder what it’s like to be a Western presstitute at these functions.."

No need to wonder any longer, Karl. 'Presstitute" is not an insult but an accurate description.

In almost all western countries working for the major media- which can afford to send reporters abroad to conferences- implies acceptance of the ground rules. One of which is that the media is an informal but important organ of the state. And to work for the media is to work for a state which sub-contracts propaganda work to corporations for the same reason that municipalities nowadays employ private contractors to pick up garbage.

In Canada the relationship could hardly be clearer if 'journalists' were wearing uniforms issued by Ottawa. Look at this, for example from Canadian Dimension:

"You really have to hand it to the suits at News Media Canada, who have pulled yet another lucrative rabbit out their hat by persuading Ottawa to not only extend its five-year $595 million bailout for two more years, but to more than double its allowed payout per journalist. The Liberal government’s Fall Economic Statement released last week included another $129 million for news media and raised the limit per subsidized journo from 25 percent of a maximum $55,000 salary, or $13,750, to 35 percent of a maximum $85,000 salary, or $29,750. ..."

Perhaps 'Highly paid Escort' would be a better description- the work is pretty well the same as plain whoring but the pay and other rewards are far better. Besides which I'm sure that some prostitutes must offer good value (disease free) for their pay. One really can't say the same about currently active journalists.
