lavrov - always on target and insightful.. thanks... regarding the cbs interview - you shared the transcript.. i found lavrov on target in all of it, but perhaps a bit more of an edge to him then here.. interesting speculation on your part at the end.. thanks karl...
Comparing Foreign Minister Lavrov and the speeches given by him with American or Western European politicians of a similar level, it is like comparing a highly knowledgeable professor with an eclectic attitude to a group of uneducated malicious idiots !
Interesting interview and responses. Many thanks karlof. I notice that Indonesia has commenced proceedings against the illegal occupier of Palestine for precisely that - illegal occupation of Palestine. I suspect the ICJ will split hairs on the South African case when it hands judgement this Friday and admonish the IDF for being out of control and near genocidal but reman silent re the State apparatus of Israel. Perhaps the Indonesian case is a stop gap as the illegal occupation is the permanent crime that the illegal occupier wants to smother.
Here is some interesting commentary from voltair.net by Thierry Meissan:
And off topic but vital to comprehending the outlaw US empire is this despairing piece from wallstreetonparade dot com. By golly the regulators in the usa are gonna have a bleak day someday. But then...
"In any case, a settlement is possible only through the negotiation process. We hope that those who have influence on the Israeli side (more than we have, for example) will fulfill their function and ensure Tel Aviv's conscientious participation in the negotiation process."
His first sentence is wrong, In the rest he's talking about the US. "That ain't gonna happen."
"There's the president, his national security advisers, the secretary of state, and a great many of their deputies. I don't know how true all the speculations are. I'm not going to dive into that either."
One would hope Lavrov is fully cognizant of how Zionist Biden is and what the neocon faction is. Someone on one of the shows yesterday, I don't remember who, pointed out that Biden during one earlier Israel crisis, startled the Israeli Prime Minister by advocating even more killing of Palestinian women and children to the degree that even the PM was shocked by how radical Biden was. If he's hoping for any positive response from the US, he's in store for disappointment.
"Without the unity of the Palestinian people..."
As I said, he still doesn't get it. There IS unity of the Palestinian people - just not their administrative bodies. Lavrov and Russia are deflecting from the real issues even while claiming this is a core issue. I do note, however, that he commented that the US wants Abbas to be the representative of the Palestinians, indicating Lavrov may have some clue that only Hamas is the real representative.
" it’s possible Russian rhetoric regarding the Zionists is changing "
A more significant development is that Russia is now flying air patrols (no details available) in Syria near the Golan Heights. However, it's not clear whether these flights are to monitor Israel and Israeli attacks into Syria or to monitor Hezbollah and other militias in the Golan Heights area.
I'd forgotten about the Northern Sea Route with the ice melting cutting a third of the times than via Suez or Africa. Interesting that the conversation is still about oil dominance and prices and they're being made cheaper by the warming that burning it causes! A positive feedback loop!
All the data points everywhere there is upset point to Zionist attitudes and actions Lavrov describes as American or The West's. Said attitudes and actions, expressing idolatry of race and land, are condemned by the Hebrew Prophets.
