Medvedev on Assest Theft

Dmitry Medvedev wrote a short missive on his Telegram April 27th dealing with Russia’s likely course of action given the Outlaw US Empire’s decision to steal the Russian assets it illegally froze thus twice breaking International Law and deep-sixing the very longstanding rights to property that’s been the bedrock of human economic relations. And it’s not just Russia that’s enraged; China is also as proven by the treatment given to Blinken over the past weekend. What I find interesting is those who wrote Russia’s constitution anticipated this act by the Outlaw US Empire as you’ll discover when reading the following:

As for our response to the US law on the confiscation of Russian assets

, it is obvious that we will not be able to give a completely symmetrical response to this US rudeness about the shameless theft of our valuables. The reason is clear: we don't have a significant amount of U.S. government property, including U.S. money, rights, and other assets.

Therefore, the answer can only be asymmetrical. By the way, it is not a fact that it will be less painful. We are talking about foreclosure, for example, by a court decision, on the property of private individuals located in the jurisdiction of Russia (money, real estate and movable property in kind, property rights). Yes, this is a complicated story, since these individuals usually acted as investors in the Russian economy. And we guaranteed them the inviolability of their right to private property. But the unforeseen happened – their state declared a hybrid war on us, including legal and judicial war. It has created a mechanism for the misappropriation of Russian valuables, which completely contradicts international and Russian law. This must be answered. And, in a sense, it is in our legislation. These are the so-called retorsions. Art. Article 1194 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation states: "The Government of the Russian Federation may establish retaliatory restrictions (retorsions) in relation to the property and personal non-property rights of citizens and legal entities of those states in which there are special restrictions on the property and personal non-property rights of Russian citizens and legal entities." This rule should be made wider, because the confiscation of our assets is the termination of the right of ownership. This means that our norm should provide not only for the restriction of the rights of foreign persons, but also for their termination, so that it is possible to foreclose in favor of the Russian state, Russian legal entities and individuals on the property of foreign legal entities from unfriendly countries. This will require a certain correction of Russian civil legislation.

But America and Americans must pay for their criminal decisions.

Note that there’s no differentiation between citizens and state as the citizens according to the Empire’s dogma on democracy elect and approve of what’s being done in their name. And it must be noted that the Empire is doing exactly that to Russia and Russians. I shouldn’t need to say this is very serious shit, but I just did. We’ve seen how the Empire wages Lawfare against the world, and Russians in particular as the human rights report demonstrated. And of course, there’s the very longstanding Economic Warfare that’s been waged against Russians since the 1917 Revolution. Yes, today’s Russia was able to capitalize on the Empire’s mistakes in that arena, but this new arena isn’t just about Russia and the Outlaw US Empire as it involves the entire world as something new will need to arise out of the murdering of property rights by the West. So, we will see not only a new international financial regime sans dollar and euro, but some other way of solidifying property rights will need to be erected and allow for a rebirth once justice is done. How that will be arranged is unknown although I have some inklings as they will be imbedded into the newly emerging global system where one Bloc will have it while the other writhes in the havoc and chaos caused by the out-of-control Outlaw US Empire, and there’ll be no intermixing as with the previous Cold War. This new phase will be completely different and very costly to the 1/8th of humanity within the West that allowed their governments to commit this and other sordid deeds.
