This is the scariest part - as Pepe Escobar sums up: “manage a raging, fearful, out-of-control imperialist west staring into the abyss of moral, political, and financial collapse”!

The people aren't the problem. It's the small core of elites; plus, most of the Western nations aren't on the same island with those elites either.

Yes, agreed! But the elites are decision makers, sadly!

That is the only hope we have......yet, I keep thinking about the protest against the Iraq war. The whole world came into the streets.....and then went home to watch it on TV. Let’s hope this is different now!

I think this is the ultimate core of the problem. In the west our 'elite' (how I hate that term as it confers the opposite of reality) has forgotten that they are our representatives.

Every politician seems bought and paid for, all of them owned by the banks and corporations, and we peons can do what exactly to ensure that they represent our wishes and will? Nothing! Elections are a sham. It's a few weeks of promises, pretending to hear our concerns, and then back to business, sucking the corporate cock.

The hideous tragedy of Gaza however has pulled the curtain back as never before. The political hypocrisy, lies, and the serving of vested interests is there for all to see. It's visible in a way that can't be hidden. Sure, the US can veto a UN vote, but the cost is enormous, a generational destruction of America's and Europe's standing that is likely irrecoverable. And not before time.

I think we're truly witnessing the Fourth Turning, with all the upheaval that entails. I have some (tiny) hope that we can return to some modicum of sanity, but Pepe's “manage a raging, fearful, out-of-control imperialist west staring into the abyss of moral, political, and financial collapse” doesn't bode well.

Ah, but when was the last time they did? And if so, why are we here now?

What a frightening situation!

The past day or so, it's struck me that there's a huge conflict when the USA is sending money and military equipment to Israel to be used against Gaza, but also is the only country to veto a UN resolution calling for a ceasefire. Perhaps there's no law against this, but it seems so unjust.

I look forward to listening to the video when I get a chance.

Thanks for posting so much valuable information, Karl. It really deepens my understanding of geopolitical matters.

Thank you, Karl, for this Alastair + Escobar "combo," as Pepe called it.

Muito Obrigado, Pepe, as always.

"...How can the multipolar Global South – increasingly represented by the expanded BRICS – manage a raging, fearful, out-of-control imperialist west staring into the abyss of moral, political, and financial collapse?"

October 7 presented the Collective West with a once in a lifetime opportunity to kill many birds with one stone, Israel.

Regionally, control over Gaza opens the gate for the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor, Israel becoming a commerce, gas, and oil hub, breaking Europe’s gas/oil dependence from Russia, one of the reasons for the Ukraine war, and cementing Israel as an outpost of the Collective West in the Middle East for decades to come.

Domestically, destroying Hamas and taking control over Gaza will take Israel one step further into their dream of Greater Israel, with the Palestinians either killed or expelled from their country.

Geopolitically, IMEC is the Collective West’s wedge into what Pepe calls the “War of Economic Corridors,” the maze of interconnected commerce corridors created around BRI, SCO, EAEU, INSTC, BRICS+, et al, and the elimination/removal of the Palestinians from Gaza, is the crucial factor for its implementation.

Netanyahu came in handy for the current project, politically he is a dead man walking, and he can be disposed of once the bulk of the job is done, with Gaza under Israeli control. Another butcher with a human face can replace him, while he either goes into retirement, or to continue his legal battle not to go to prison, while holding Israel hostage to his predicament.

The problem is, replacing Netanyahu does not, in any way, solve the ME conundrum.

If BRICS+, SCO, et al, are serious about the creation of a multipolar world, Israel needs to be cut to size, be invited to join the civilized world, or else…Israel’s temper tantrums as the bastard child of the Collective West in the ME will continue to bring misery to the region. Iraq, Syria, Libya, Lebanon, Iran, Yemen, Afghanistan, have suffered at different degrees the consequences of opposing the CW/Israel’s policies in the region. The list is long.

It is about time to read the riot act to Israel.

Yes, agree. IMO, the Zionist Project is kaput, but the danger of a wider war still exists which needs to be avoided.

Most scholastic examination and review I have read. There is much to be said in the details that you presented, outstanding.

If ever there was such a time when so many bound by such servitude as the Palestinian and the Yemeni, today such resistance and its popular axis can only continued unswayed.

My first thought in answer to Pepe's question is that one manages said out of control maniacal resident of the asylum by situating them in a space entirely unaccustomed, entirely alien or just unexpected and under close observation. There are a multitude of ways to achieve this and I suspect 2024 will deliver a few. Placing the supremacists in second place and under intense spotlight is one and there are a few existing technological second places now occupied by the once was hegemon.

The science and technology field reveals they are relegated to observer status. The economic field exhibits this outlaw US empire as being self saddled with much lead to handicap their performance. Their mode of capitalism is seriously undesirable for those among us still free to chose.

Then their are the extraterrestrials... ;) no, I mean the space program vehicles that we humans expend so much energy and thought and mighty fine design on. A thousand flowers are about to bloom in this endeavour and they arent all western.

In spite of all the gross human rights abuse and genocide of the Westies we are lifted by the abundant human rights and interpersonal compassion of many among us. Just dont take your eyes off the outlaw in the white room.

"‘Absolute victory’ may be understood as ‘no way’ will Moscow allow Ukraine again to become a threat to Russian security."

But it's not just Ukraine that will not be allowed to threaten Russia again. It's the West itself. This is why Ukraine will be taken over in its entirety by Russia and why Russia will put new Military Districts in place from the Black Sea to the Arctic. The West will be shut out completely. If the West wants to attack Russia, it will have to use nuclear missiles - for which Russia, with its advanced air defenses and its hypersonic missiles loaded on its own submarines and aircraft which can easily reach the US command centers, is also ready.

With regard to Gaza, I agree with Pepe that since everyone else is essentially helpless against Israel and the US - including Russia and China - it will be up to the Resistance to finish Israel once and for all. In my view, this is inevitable (unless Israel is forced to stop earlier due to a failure to destroy Hamas or economic issues).

Two nuclear subs, one a boomer, the other ordinary?

What kind of work is performed by an ordinary sub? Spy missions such as conducted by the USS Halibut? Decompression chambers for deep sea divers? The US Navy has a bunch of these different types of ordinary subs. It also has attack subs, at least that is what the US Navy calls them. All are capable of delivering ordnance on target.

An "ordinary" Russian sub would do most everything except be tasked with ICBMs. Instead some are armed with the naval version of the Kinzal like this new one. One of the reasons Russia needs to expand its military is due to its naval building program; and then there're those new jets to fly and the crews needed to run them.
