here is what i said a moment ago at moa - "i really believe the usa is a declining empire and i do believe both the leadership and the populace need to acknowledge and come to terms with this.. as it presently stands, that isn't happening.. until an acknowledgement of reality sets in, i can't see this usa election changing anything... the usa and it's citizens need a serious wake up call and i am not sure what it is at this point... but it definitely hasn't had this wake up call yet.."

There's a problem with the term "Empire" here as that denotes an undemocratic, authoritarian entity despite the fact that the USA's been an Empire since day one. People aren't taught that; they're taught the opposites. Admitting the USA's in decline means admitting all those GDP numbers produced for the last 20+ years were all falsified. And so on and so forth.

The biggest political problem in the West is prevarication on an industrial level.

there is something very undemocratic, and authoritarian about the usa, so i will stick with empire... maybe rogue nation is better...

US GDP and the federal debt are rising almost parallel, same slopes.

But the debt line is 35% or more at each point on the lines, and flying in formation.

IOW the U.S. GDP is grown by debt at .65 GDP to 1.00 debt.

It's crazy when you look at the basic figures--assets, liabilities and equity. Negative $37 Trillion in equity!!
