Couple of typos: Catherine Harris and John Floyd. Sorry for the OCD proofreading, can’t help it. Thanks Karl for what you do.

I think that is because of machine translators from Russian.

Yeas, I didn't reproof-read after I got it all posted, which itself was a chore given the length.

As I replied elsewhere, lots of material for further writing. What I didn't include with the document was Maria Zakharova's introduction of it during the weekly briefing, from which I had planned to provide selections but aborted. Here's what she said:

"For the first time, a separate report on the human rights situation in the United States has been published on the Foreign Ministry's website.

"Despite Washington's unsubstantiated statements about its commitment to the principle of the universality of fundamental human rights and freedoms, as well as its proclamation of itself as a global leader in this area, we have to admit that in fact the situation with respect for human rights and freedoms in the United States is very far from international standards.

"The conduct of all kinds of military operations on the territory of the states of Europe and the Middle East, the creation of secret prisons around the world, the implementation of an extremely tough migration policy in recent years and many other violations of human rights and freedoms illustrate not only the dual nature of this country's position with regard to human rights standards, but also its connivance approaches to international law as such.

"How does the imposition of sanctions on states relate to human rights and freedoms? Blockade of countries without legal grounds during the pandemic? Using trade and financial leverage to influence the populations of states in order to induce citizens who will feel economic pressure to change their civic position? The U.S. has never responded to this. Instead, we raise these questions in the report.

"Unchecked power in the world, the capture of new markets, and the absence of deterrents after the collapse of the Soviet Union created a sense of permissiveness among the American elite. The practice of using not only military, but also economic tools, as well as information resources, as a means of force, is expanding.

"The U.S. authorities are actively using the tactics of "proxy fighting" against Russia and the Russians. We talk about it every day. First of all, this is expressed in the direction of large-scale military assistance to the Kiev regime and pressure on US NATO allies to take similar measures to support its terrorist activities. Undisguised pressure is being exerted on sovereign states, including through the use of human rights mechanisms, in an attempt to create a corresponding negative background around the Russian Federation and its allies and partners in the international arena.

"One of the most serious problems in countering the challenges faced by the modern international community in the field of human rights is Washington's practice of applying "double standards" in assessing certain situations and phenomena.

"Such an approach continues to be actively and hypocritically used by the United States to escalate confrontation, as well as to interfere in the internal affairs and violate the sovereignty of independent States.

"In the eyes of the international community, such approaches give the American understanding of democracy an increasingly emasculated and manipulative character, and contribute to the discrediting of democratic principles and values in general.

"Adherence to the international "rules-based order", which is primarily aimed at ensuring Washington's cynical interests, mentoring tone, partiality, complete oblivion of the concept of sovereignty and one of the basic and fundamental principles of international law enshrined in the UN Charter – non-interference in the internal affairs of states, leads to a deep disappointment in the very "Western values" that have "fascinated" others for many decades civilization and society, bringing considerable political dividends to the West and the United States itself.

"At the same time, ignoring serious and long-standing problems in the field of human rights protection at home, the United States is concentrating its forces on directing other states to the path of self-destruction."

The Outlaw US Empire aims to kill as many hosts as it can infiltrate, including its home base.

Big Lie Media is incapable of honestly reporting on any of the exposed situations, and not just because it's "bad for ratings," as such information discloses the depth of the US Empire's outlaw nature where it violates its own laws at home.

Yeah, it's quite long and covers much. One thing is clear IMO, and that's those running the Empire have a vendetta against Russia and doesn't give a damn about whose life gets ruined by extra-territorial judicial kidnapping, which is far worse than I was aware. The report provides lots of meat for writers wanting to use it. I think readers would rather read more about Pepe's Nuke than wade through this reference doc, but the report sinks all claims by the Outlaw US Empire to being humanitarian and that's important.

the extra-territorial judicial kidnapping and justifications for this - breaking sanctions and all the rest of the ROT, is just another extremely disturbing part of the usa's role on the world stage at present... very sober reading.. the part you highlight was early in the article... the data all in one place is very disturbing..
