Model of the Kantiana campus under construction of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, which is being built within the framework of the national project "Science and Universities", taking into account the priorities for the development of the region, the focus being on medicine, IT, engineering, chemistry and pedagogy.
It’s interesting how Putin teases some of the young people. Joking about the student from India not looking local, then making sure to pump up India and Modi. I noticed there weren’t any “Gender Studies “ majors. Reading these interactions with different groups really gives me more and more appreciation for how well versed he is.
I've yet to post the meeting with the Kaliningrad governor and ministers. The RT headline about his trip that quoted the Kremlin was very curious:
"Putin’s trip to westernmost exclave ‘isn’t about NATO’"
As if Putin's trip was seen as dare to NATO by NATO given the recent hysteria over Russia going all the way to the English Channel once it finishes with Ukraine. The picture shown is association with the article shows Putin with pad and pen poised listening intently, https://www.rt.com/russia/591271-putin-kaliningrad-not-signal-nato/
Fascinating exchanges and its good to see Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University has a pedagogy faculty. I trust there will be a semester dedicated to the teachings of Michael Hudson and Dmitry Orlov.
Here is the first video of the first term and the exam question is "describe in two words or more the fate of Finland and the Baltic states in the next decade, expletives may be included in your essay."
As revealed, Russia is making a number of regional "Central Universities" designed as the hub for the regional "spoke" universities. As some have noted, the Soviet educational system is back on top with the "bologna" method ousted to the winds. The upshot is the already superior Russian system will become even more so. However, there's still the demographic issue Putin described so well.
Martyanov's problem is his ire interferes with his diction.
Once again an amazing occasion! It is exhausting to simply read the range and depth of the questions and responses
That President Putin can find the time energy and curiosity to address and to respond to audiences across all domains is extraordinary - it is clear that he must learn as much as he gives
Very interesting read, though very long (as usual!).
Which President (or Prime Minister... or even a mayor!) goes and talk WITH students here in the West?
If a western politician goes to a University, it is most likely to get their vote at their next election, at best for PR and for talking TO students, surely not for listening to them, to hear their concerns, opinions, suggestions, recommendations.
I remember a friend of mine, a younger colleague from University, who graduated 1 or 2 years after me, told me that he had a graduation ceremony with the mayor of my home town (plus a few other local politician). The whole graduation ceremony was about them... the politicians, I mean. They gave speeches, boasting about their own achievements and so on... they did not even give a handshake to the graduates!
The more transcripts I read from Putin, Lavrov and Zakharova, the more I fall in love with Russia and the more I think of moving to Russia!
I don't know how old you are or your personal situation, but Russia is certainly a land of opportunities. IMO, the language is easy enough to learn.
As for Russia's civic and social environment, it's possible to get a good idea through my reporting and there's plenty more available online. And all of Russia's major cities are attractive. You've read what the governance is like and will continue to be.
In many respects, Russia's a developing nation that will continue to improve as time moves along. Eurasia is the global economic engine of the 21st Century with Russia at the core.

I do like Orlov he is scathing and impacts like the back of an axe but more palatable than Andrey M and his spleen.
