Another 'short' read full of valuable information. Thanks. Always amusing to compare the contents and delivery of Putin's reports to the high-school level style of Western 'leaders'. No offence to any high-schooler. Agree that Western sanctions on Russia are long-term positive for that society in spite of the initial pains they still cause. Unlike Germany, Russia is NOT talking about cutting welfare and social programs for the 'war effort', quite the opposite. Amusing.
Russia's ability to withstand the sanctions and prosper while doing so, with the government significantly and retroactively increasing pensions across the board, almost seems too good to be true. If it's all for real, economists and historians will be studying this long into the future.
Russia, China and a few others are unique in the sense that the nation’s capital is based on the people’s capital—the people contribute to their own success and the nation’s development is based on its people—People Centered Development. That sort of organization is how societies were once arranged. No rents or very few are allowed to be privately collected, with the remainder harvested by the people/state. That’s how a nation can develop without outside capital such as IMF or World Bank loans that are designed to be unrepayable. The key is the political-economy must be organized so it can collect all possible rents, which means most of the means that produce those rents are publicly owned as utilities. A market and private business can still exist and prosper; it just can’t collect rents. Indeed, the collected rents enable business existence and potential expansion because the cost of production is kept very low enabling it to compete in markets not having that advantage.
There's a basic set of misunderstanding that have been deliberately built into accounting so that rent seeking behaviour is normalised; people are completely blind to it. The same can be said regarding money issuance and credit creation.
Yes, and that's the aim behind Putin's settlement strategy which is the institution of an Eurasian Security Structure that supplants the Euro-Atlantic NATO structure that's an offensive not defensive alliance controlled by the Outlaw US Empire. The peace isn't about Ukraine; it's about Eurasia as has been explained many times by all top Russian Security officials. It's 100% clear from Trump's words today that his team has no clue about what's at stake or what's to be negotiated, and he also doesn't know he has zero leverage in these talks. Yes, he yaks like he does, but the reality is the opposite. If Trump were smart, he'd adopt Putin's position and advocate for the same sort of security structure so he could spin he brought it into being.
Great information here. Timely as we are exposed to Trump’s glaring lack of knowledge of what is really going on in the world.

Yes, Russia’s increasing spending on social programs instead.
Thank you!

as Russia is also part of European sphere, maybe working to make it a peaceful one is needed

Trump might be on to something.
He is full of bombast and grandiosity, but I never forgot your reference to his November 18 speech, still waiting and watching.
I recall Kim’s descriptor—Dotard, although Trump doesn’t appear physically weak.
