Finally got to read the entire report. One gets the impression that Russia is a nation more and more freed from self constraint and the fog of economic ideological confusion. The past few years have clarified their sense of capability and innovation. There is certainly heaps to be gained through these perpetual dialogues and the publishing of detailed reports. This treasury of exchanges disseminates across a nation and informs apparatchiks in other regions. The old USSR and associated collective system has been a sound foundation for progress in this post USSR paradigm the Russian Federation. There is such a depth and value to it that I had never imagined possible in all my years of activist community development in the West. Admirable stuff!

Yes, the basic communitarian aspects of the Soviet system remain intact along with an internationalist outlook. The goal of solving the global food crisis was articulated not by Putin but by staff at that facility, and you'll read it again in the next article. It's very sad the West has such a negative attitude to Russia's system and goals as it displays its Anti-Human mindset. As the Nuland and Albright creatures show so well, there's no love for anything aside from power that emanates from the Outlaw US Empire. It's the Mad Hater.

I guess if you’re going to have a problem, growing pains, rather than death by decay is the one to have. An excellent peek into Putin’s youth….apparently working rather than just inheriting his position. Good stuff, and the tomatoes looked great.

Have you seen any member of Team Putin not in good condition, ie. overweight? I've seen only a few governors in that condition. I didn't post them but the photo collection shows Putin being mobbed by the locals.

There has been some pruning and replanting, Nuland GONE, new Dep Sec State John Bass, the last Ambassador to Afghanistan who managed the latest retreat from Kabul - same consequences as the previous one ;) Somewhere in the EU I can hear Dylan singing 'like a rolling stone'... how does it feel - to be on your own...

This is too good, every week just improves and improves.

I was 2 weeks ago in St. Petersburg (Mariinsky Theater Ballett). I have seen those tomatos and I wondered about the price. 460 Ruble per kilo (+- 5 $), the cheapest potatos 27 Ruble per Kilo with a Salary of 600 $

Yeah, about the same price in dollars per pound here in Oregon. Baking russet potatoes are currently 1.29/# or 118 rubles or @260 rubles per kilo. My cost of living comparisons show Russia to be vastly less expensive place to live, plus just over 80% own their own home, while in USA that has dropped below 50% and continues to fall.

This may be a silly question.

The wages/salary amounts quoted in rubles: what are the periods the totals cover? Weeks or months?

If I understand the purchasing power paradigm, as it pertains to Russia, from Tucker Carlson's adventures in Russian supermarkets it represents a four-fold increase in the purchasing power compared to the dollar ($) for internal purchases. Not sure how that translates for the UK colony.

It's something that I've been wondering about for a few weeks now.

The exchange rate I'm using is 90 rubles to one dollar. So, 65,000 rubles is about $720/mo. or about $4.50/hr for a 160 hour month; roughly the US minimum wage of 30 years ago. But as you note, the cost of living difference is huge and that also relates to the amount of overhead costs on Russia's economy, which is even a greater factor less than the 4X COL--probably about 6X and even more for the MIC at 10-12X,, without factoring in the qualitative differences.

In the Federal Assembly Address, the plan doesn't anticipate the elimination of poverty by 2030; 2035-2040 is more realistic. China was able to achieve its poverty reduction faster because it was operating at an even lower base than Russia is currently plus it was a major government policy goal that needs to be continued so lapsing back doesn't occur. One other item is Russia's rate of inflation which is cost-push resulting from the policy of rapid wage rising that increases purchasing power that fuels the domestic economy so its growth can then increase wages again. The misnomer is just looking at the main central bank rate, which is 8% or so because many loans to households and business are made at much lower, preferential rates that range from 1-5% depending on the program. I bolded the way Russia enabled its agribusiness expansion as it's further proof of deep public financing combined with banks, some of which are partially public utilities. It might be an "ad hoc system" as Hudson calls it, but it's certainly worked with Putin as general manager.

karl, i found it of interest that americans were still working within russia. working on corn no less. corn being notoriously compromised by gmos. here (in victoria bc) we have one farm, an old family farm that has saved its seeds for generations, which has gmo free corn. i wonder if the american company in russia has a similar strain or set of seeds? that this company did not bail along with most other western based companies makes it unique. if you, dear karl,, or any one knows this company, i would love to learn more about it. thank you.

As you probably know, Russia banned all GMO crap about 20 years ago. Mark A. Gekht, CEO of the company "Ruseed". Its website, https://ruseed.ru/?ysclid=ltghes98t4720170002 Its VK page, https://vk.com/ruseed_ru?ysclid=ltghgoqkie427205059

Both are in Russian.

thank you, karl. yes, russia knew immediately GMOs were crap. that was what intrigued me---b/c most corn especially empire based corn is the worst. any company that withstood sanctions & produces corn russia approves has to be GMO free. companies worthy of respect. thank you, karl.

I'm sure there're more than that one company. There're some trade publications in Russian I came across in my search. There's also the Agriculture Ministry.
