One aspect of the meetings with African leaders is that President Putin doesn't have to tell them that he, like many of them, has been honoured with an indictment from the ICC. SAn indictment preferred by the most corrupt of neo-colonialist European governments.
A Russian President can't buy endorsements like that.
That's an interesting way to look at it. I hope Putin's vow is fulfilled when he retires from office in 2030. Today's discussions were excellent. There's so much going on it's hard to keep pace. Every day, something is happening almost everywhere within the Global South. I just wish I could travel like Escobar and witness it all firsthand.
Your posts are invaluable - I have been looking for reports on this summit, and have found a great deal of anti RF and indeed anti Africa propaganda, but nothing to compare to your writings
As for wishing to travel - you could, if you wished, find reliable intelligent and informed correspondants, especially in Africa, where there is an excess of intelligence and a great lack of news outlets, dominated by the usual suspects, anglo and franco

That's the way to treat this indictment!
thanks karl.. typo - " As you know, in 1904, Mr. Mandela became President of the Republic of South Africa. " interesting comments on a number of topics.. Dilma Rousseff comments at the end are also interesting in light of the link shared at moa - https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/brics-bank-ndb-says-not-considering-new-projects-russia-2023-07-26/
Wow james--1904! Okay, we're even on typos. I provided an excerpt to counteract the Reuters lie. You ever listen to Hugh Masekela?
i have listened to hugh masekela, but not for a long time.. i was playing 'working in a coal mine' earlier today - lee dorsey sang it in the 60's...
