I thought of you as soon as I saw this meeting , knowing you'd appreciate it. What I see are all the players acting together because they know that's the proper approach. Now that Russia has again turned its energies to the development of Siberia, its Arctic regions and the Far East, it doesn't want to make the same mistakes in development its Soviet predecessors made in neglecting the environment in the process as prevention costs far less than the cure for remedying ecological hazards. So, the attitude is very different and most welcomed.

You can't extract what's not extractable no matter how much printed fiat you have--the fiat cannot substitute for water or gas. I read the studies back in the oughts when I was invested in Canadian Royal Trusts as to what was possible and the situation hasn't changed since then aside from those resources being further depleted.

Very interesting. I find the idea of a “bear patrol “ extremely interesting. It certainly is something I would have liked to explore when younger. That was one of my favorite interviews. Thank you much for posting it.

There was a video I watched last year about co-existing with the polar bears on the Yamal peninsula, which is one of Russia's main gas producing regions. This isn't the one, but it relates to the topic, and I'm sure you and others will enjoy it. https://rtd.rt.com/films/freed-to-be-wild/
