Russian Heros: We Need You as President Putin: I Will Run Again
Conversation after medal award ceremony.
The man who asked the question, Artem Zhoga, father of Hero of Russia and DPR Vladimir Zhoga
Today is Heros of the Fatherland Day
It’s now official, President Putin will run for reelection, something many anticipated. The cynical will say the conversation after the award ceremony was staged; however, many will say that the idea might have been suggested but the words said were truthfully sincere. To those holding either view, please take the six minutes it takes to watch the video at this link before reading the transcript that follows—you won’t need to know Russian. The following are their words translated into English punctuated by some photos:
Alexey Zhoga: Mr President, you have done so much for our Donbass region.
The Federation Council has called for the election of the President of the Russian Federation. And I would like to ask you, in the person of all our people, the entire Donbass, and our reunited lands, to take part in these elections, because there is a lot of work to be done.
Thanks to your actions, your decision, we have gained freedom, the right to choose. We want to take part in the election of the President of the Russian Federation, and you are our President. There is a lot of work to be done, and we still need integration, integration into social relations, all other economic formats-and purely just ordinary, human, peaceful life. And we would like to do all this under your guidance.
You are our President, we are your team. We need you, Russia needs you.
Vladimir Putin: Thank you very much.
I won't hide it, I had different thoughts at different times. But now, you're right, it's a time to make a decision. I will run for the post of President of the Russian Federation.
Sapizhat Mazaeva, mother of Hero of Russia Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov.
S. Mazaeva: Mr Putin, as the mother of the first Hero [of Russia – a member of the CBO], a real one, I have 25 years of experience as a primary school teacher, I understand that not only the family contributes to the education of the hero, but teachers make a big contribution to the education of the hero. Our boys and girls will grow up to be heroes if they put in this work, educational work, from the school bench, if teachers put in it, if they put in the child those qualities – love for the Motherland, patriotism, the desire to work and work hard.
But this work needs to be continued. I also join Artyom [Zhoge] to make you run for office. You are our President. We are your team.
Vladimir Putin: Thank you very much.
Vladimir Polyakov: We must move forward. We're here for you. We are with you. We ask. Russia needs you, and industry needs you. Thank you.
Vladimir Putin: Thank you very much.
Maria Kostyuk, mother of Hero of Russia Andrei Kovtun.
M. Kostyuk: I would like to thank you as a mother for the memory of our sons - from the fathers, from the mothers, from the widows who are present here, the boys who died, for the fact that you really appreciate their feat – and we see it – for the benefit of our Fatherland, and for the fact that today we have the opportunity, really a unique opportunity to be present here, at this truly historic event, when you were able to revive the great glory of our Fatherland. And today you are presenting our guys, our great soldiers, with the highest award of our state. And we, along with their parents, are happy for them, we, along with the whole country, are proud of them, and we pray for them.
Our guys, they are on the front line today performing their military duty, and here we are, in the rear, we understand everything, we are doing everything, we are fulfilling our civil [duty]. But our guys did not leave their front there and do not leave it. Don't leave us, either. We are here today, I am very proud: Hero of Russia, Hero of the Soviet Union, Knight of the Order of Courage, Hero of Labor, parents of our fallen heroes – we are all here. And here's one story: we are your front, we are also your front, we are with you, we are for you, we are together with you.
And as the guys say today, I also repeat: You are our President, you are our Commander-in-Chief.
Vladimir Putin: Thank you.
M. Kostyuk: We have a lot to do for our Russia today, and a lot more to do to continue the work of our sons. And we are going along with you, and we must continue to go along with you.
What am I saying? I think the guys over there on the front line can tell you.
Yu.Meager: Comrade Supreme Commander – in-Chief, allow me to convey the words of the guys who are now on the front line, the guys have, were before your words voiced now, the experience-you will run, you will not. That is why we asked you to tell us, dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, to stay with us, because together we are a force, and with you we will win, you are our President.
Vladimir Putin: We will be together.
Mikhail Lysenko: Mr President, I understand very well how much the guys need you now, because just recently we have come together on such a difficult path for medicine. You were one of the first to enter the "red zone", supported us in everything, we felt just an extraordinary care, just a real human concern. And it was very important. That's why we won on our own small front, and not because the pandemic is over, but because our results are incomparable to the global, European and any other.
Vladimir Putin: Yes, we know.
Mikhail Lysenko: Of course, your participation was very important, principled and personal. In healthcare and medicine, there are a huge number of tasks that we must, simply must, do together with you.
Vladimir Putin: It's impossible to work in medicine without you, in industry without you, and on the battlefield without you guys…
Elena Shcherbina: Rosatom's miners and residents of the Trans-Baikal Territory want you to know that we are always with you, we believe you, and we are proud to have such a President. We are together.
Vladimir Putin: Thank you. I want to repeat once again: at different times I had different thoughts on this issue, but I understand that today, as I said, there is no other way.
Replica: We hope so.
Vladimir Putin: I will run for President of Russia. And thank you for these words, especially in this situation and just today.
A. Zhoga: This is the first time we will participate in elections in the reunited territories, and we are voting for you.
The champagne is a tradition at the end of these events. The very beginning of the video shows the extent of the audience in St. George Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace. When the SMO began, it was clear to me that Putin would see it through to its conclusion and to the end of Russia’s current main planning period—2030. Putin has few peers in the world. Currently there’s a much bigger challenge than the SMO and NATO and that’s ending the Palestinian Crisis and carving out a solution.
At this juncture, wanting Putin to continue and Biden to exit may seem odd but morally correct. And the problem isn’t really Biden per se but the people pulling his strings and putting words in his mouth—the unelected Oligarchy. They and their predecessors have mismanaged the US Empire for 140+ years, and instead of rectifying its gross dishonor have further buried it in an immoral abyss. The Frenchman who engineered the Statue of Liberty saw what was possible, but by the time his creation arrived and was erected, the US Empire was already going in the wrong direction. It will be interesting to see how Putin’s reelection shapes the POTUS contest.

" the problem isn’t really Biden per se"
True - it's the system. But let's not cut Biden any slack, old demented fool or not. He was a corrupt war monger since forever. So are the rest of them.
You can't help getting the impression that Russia is a country and ours are mere pretences.
Even fancy 'black tie' occasions like this look in Russia like interactions between real people where in my nation they look like orchestrated puppet shows between stuffed shirts or worse...
