I guess one can't really blame the Russians for feeling hostile towards Europe after Western leaders have called for the defeat of Russia; however, I don't believe that an emotionalized approach is in the best interests of Russia.

Karlof1 says here that RT misquotes and distorts Karaganov's article — Karaganov is not advocating meddling in or overthrowing European governments, as RT indicates, but actually proposes threatening them with nuclear strikes to stop their push for continuing war with Russia that would cost thousands more Russian men's lives. Karaganov says that Oreshnik is OK as a potential escalation step, but in the end nukes are needed to force Europe to back off sooner rather than later. Karaganov thinks the USA can be prevented from defending Europe by threatening them with nukes. He is proposing a rational version of what can be considered the ultimate hard line that Russia could take in getting the West off its back.

I guess one can't really blame the Russians for feeling hostile towards Europe after Western leaders have called for the defeat of Russia; however, I don't believe that an emotionalized approach is in the best interests of Russia.

The Karaganov article is in a Russian journal called Profile. The quotations here are from that original article, which I have read. Karlof1's translation is accurate. Karlof1 says here that RT misquotes and distorts Karaganov's article — Karaganov is not advocating meddling in or overthrowing European governments, as RT indicates, but actually proposes threatening them with nuclear strikes to stop their push for continuing war with Russia that would cost thousands more Russian men's lives. Karaganov says that Oreshnik is OK as a potential escalation step, but in the end nukes are needed to force Europe to back off sooner rather than later. Karaganov thinks the USA can be prevented from defending Europe by threatening them with nukes. He is proposing a rational version of what can be considered the ultimate hard line that Russia could take in getting the West off its back.
