2024-2025 are declared the Years of Culture, meaning Cross-Cultural Relations, between the two partner nations to mark the 75th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China.
Thank you Karlof1 for sharing your analysis and insight; words of the wise are priceless. I admit, I cheated here not being fully caught up. I followed a link backwards to your earlier article on farming and just completed it, now I'm needing to hopefully return to sequential order but this one was too tempting and chock full details and to scroll by. I'll be up to May 13th with your work after this. I know critical historical events seem to be unfolding almost daily but between yourself and Simplicius and others somehow churning these articles out at a rampant pace it's been a struggle to feel informed with the latest developments the past few weeks. Thank you again sir and hey maybe take a well-deserved break, you've certainly earned it. Blessings to you, your health your family, and all your endeavors.
Thanks for the compliments, Yes, I'd like a break but there remains a substantial queue of events to translate and disseminate. You're to be applauded for your attempt to read the archive while stating abreast of the current.
"his way of saying he feels at home and at ease surrounded by friends"
They're trying to build trust. We're (the so-called west, 5 eyes etc.) trying to destroy it. Xi, who to my mind is not so great at hiding his true feelings behind a smile (or maybe it's just my inability to interpret him), looks very relaxed in your last photo.
Chinese were deemed inscrutable by westerners because they wouldn't take the time to learn Chinese ways and have yet to rectify their very longstanding mistake.
So far all the photos I've seen strongly support the notion that Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin have a genuine and relaxed friendship that goes beyond the appearance of good diplomatic relations.
I enjoyed Xi's poke at 'jungle' borrel's soundbite when he said, "...the blooming garden of world civilization."

Thanks for the report.

Yes. I lived and worked in China for a period and found this. The further west I went the less I saw it.

Interesting times indeed.
