Thanks for this educational transcript of Lavrov’s, and also your point about Syria being the origin of Orthodox Christianity tying it culturally with Russia. Much has been made clear for me regarding Lebanon’s conundrum as well. Greatly appreciated.

As it was elsewhere within the French colonial world, Lebanon and Syria suffered greatly and were better off under Ottoman rule.

Some delicious irony from Mr Lavrov WRT to Kursk incursion, but then extended as a description of modern Western foreign policy decisions.

"It is difficult for me to judge what was the idea in this situation. Because our Western colleagues have sophisticated brains. Sometimes they turn everything inside out in their own way. Then nothing comes of it."

Now they're running around pointing fingers at each other. The unelected urge more war while those who vote want peace. Meanwhile, the political war against Macron escalates as Impeachment action was initiated as Macron refuses to allow a government to be formed. If the vote follows opinion polls (2/3s are needed), Macron will be ousted.
