Another example is Kaspersky, the Russian computer security company, which manufactures a high-end and effective antivirus, among other products. According to Wikipedia, "Kaspersky Lab is ranked 4th in Endpoint Security segment according to IDC data for 2010."
Also from Wikipedia: "In 2017, it was alleged that hackers working for the Russian government stole confidential data from the home computer of a US National Security Agency contractor via Kaspersky antivirus software."
What they fail to mention is that when the antivirus destects a virus, it automatically uploads the infected files to their labs for research, as many AVs do. They also don't mention that the NSA contractor should not have had those files on his private system.
Also: "On 20 June 2024, the US announced that it would prohibit Kaspersky from selling or distributing updates to its software to US customers which caused the cybersecurity company to leave the US market the following month."
I'm glad that you've reached the conclusion that I reached sometime ago. Cease trade with the hegemon, and its five eyes cronies in particular. The populations within the five eyes are like goldfish and accept the status quo as voting won't change fundamental policies of predation. Its trade behaviour is to take over any foreign company that has a decent balance sheet, technology and prospects. This policy won't change except via collapse from an endogenous source. Like a lack of supply. The financial system will undoubtedly print, but it can't create tangible goods.
Yes, the Neoliberal parasites will eventually eat enough of its host that will cause them to start feeding on each other, a point we'll reach rather soon.
Suing a US entity in the US is recognition of the US judicial system, which for any knowledgeable person is among the most corrupt, if not the most corrupt in the world.
Frédéric Pierucci x-director exposed this in detail in "The American Trap: My battle to expose America's secret economic war against the rest of the world".
Thousands of other stories are available to prove this. I myself have witnessed one of this stories. Justice in America is a commodity for sale, have money buy a lot of "justice" even murder (O. J. Simpson). Have no money = no rights.
DJI should respect itself and just leave the shrinking American market.
Interesting, however, that Chinese firms have won their cases as business law within the Empire still prevails. Of course, it helps to have courage, deep pockets and good lawyers.
True Chinese firms have occasionally won cases after time consuming and expensive litigation. However, after this process, nothing is guaranteed and they can be blacklisted again as stated in the article:
Quote: "In May of this year, Hesai Technology, a global leader in lidar solutions, also sued the Pentagon for a similar reason. Absurdly, after the Pentagon "removed" Hesai from the blacklist, recent reports have suggested that it may be "re-added" to the list."
Actually by not understanding the geopolitical situation and trusting the master as a house slave, they are in for a rude awakening, like West-aligned Russian oligarchs that had their assets confiscated.
However, it's better for Chinese business to learn the hard way than to have the CPC say you can't conduct business. CPC should warn of risks involved and suggest other possibilities, point at Huawei as an example.
When I ran for mayor of SF killafornia in 2007, against Gruesome Gavin Gruesome Newsom, Ms ScKamala Harris placed me in jail, into solitary isolation. Thanks for that.
She shut down my Grasshopper taxi business forevermore. What I said to be so hated?
To Impeach is Patriotic....
Recently I finagled a brief reprise to the SF taxi career, and was again shut down from even driving any taxi of SF origin at all in the land of the free and home of the brave.
Amazing they haven't been able to stop me from swimming in the SF bay...too bad I can't swim to China or Russia
your solution at the end could work perhaps.. i don't know, but in your closing remarks here - " the Outlaw US Empire will do what it always does: Lie, which is its favorite form of “political trickery.” And it lies about its lies. " perhaps trump is the best leader given his penchant for lying!! i don't know if that would be pay back, but it looks like it might be! thanks for the post karl...
I like this article, with many excellent comments. I accept that trying to win US legal cases against the interests of the US regime is not a fair process, but it can gradually turn more US thinking people towards common sense, so I welcome those willing to try.
It occurred to me the the Chinese government at this point in time could gain by establishing a mirror image of the US laws sanctioning foreign firms with proven links to "enemy" militaries such as China (DJI says convincingly that it has no such links). They set up a commission to construct a list of foreign firms with proven links to the US military (a self-declared enemy of China), and as these names are published, Chinese firms are banned from trading activities with them. Could the US or UN really object? Would it kill off US multinationals? Win-win?
China has taken steps in that direction with its counter-sanctions. China continues to try and reason with the unreasonable and is heard by a portion of US business who in turn barks at those being unreasonable. Apple is an excellent example of such behavior. Hudson has suggested a possible method for negating higher tariffs by placing export fees on certain commodities like the rare earth minerals. The fact of the matter is the Outlaw US Empire is geoeconomically dependent on China and a host of other Global South nations but refuses to admit/submit to that fact and thus acts as if it has the superior position it no longer has.
An agreement with the US is like signing a piece of wet paper that will be immediately blown away by a hurricane. The Impire simply cannot be trusted at all.
Excellent piece. Hate to use this weary trope but if the shoe fits: lying, usually in tones of self-righteous yet utterly uninformed moral hysteria, is perhaps the dominant characteristic of the american personality. The moral hysteric whips up the hatred (William Lloyd Garrison and the other new englanders) while the amoral sociopaths leverage this evil energy into war and plunder. All tarted up as a righteous crusade. Wasn’t hard to convince people to fall for zionism, the way it was packaged: an oppressed, doughty people fighting back against the evil (German / Christian ) oppressor. Aka the WW2 myth, devoured by GOP morons with such abandon.

Just another effort to demonize Russia...

The Bay's cold, bro! Even down by Milpitas.
You can fly.
Russia has a new immigration scheme for people who want to get out of the West.
China not so easy, being a qualified teacher is the best route. They have all the taxi drivers they need.
I am putting a relevant piece up on Substack in a week or two, I'll also talk about Hong Kong, the Philippines and Malaysia. Civilised countries.

Boycott Sanction Divest from the Terrorist State of Israel and it's supporters NOW.
Free Palestine. Make Palestine Palestine again. Cancel U.N. Resolution #181. Wage Peace.

Well, also "devoured" by D-Party people in similar manner.
The Pentagon does as it is ordered by the City of London. It has no independence.
Since 2004 the world is viewed as two zones, the GAP and the CORE.
Neither zone is particularly desirable in the globalist totalitarian new world.
