Yes, I remember when I tried to post a pic of someone defecating in the middle of traffic in SF they seemed to be opposed, might have just been a coincidence...not sure why they cared, you couldn't see the guy's face....ha ha

There seems to be no way past this hypothetical (albeit wholehearted) support. I want to find a way to subscribe, actually donate, but although I've tried repeatedly over the past year or 18 months - and I do subscribe to several other substacks, so it's not pure incompetence on my part - I can't get money to you via a simple Donate or Subscribe button.

The hard time we're having is economic and the world cup was a diversion from more pressing problems. Sovereignty is not defined by a spectator sports team, although from the spectacle of the cup, one might wonder.

Dr. Hudson sees Argentina’s debt issue as a domestic problem since the nation’s elites own most of the bonds that are connected to the debt that hamstrings Argentina. Add neoliberal rent seekers and their alliance with the elite along with a dysfunctional political system, and an internal crisis is the result. Your national problems are structural and systemic with reform unlikely to provide solutions. And that’s why futbol is a distraction.
