“The United States government of today is arguably more Truman’s than it is any other president’s,

one of thoughtless cruelty and mechanized violence,

of lawless, arbitrary power exercised by an officialdom responsible to no one."...3/20/2019, “Was Harry Truman one of the worst terrorists of all time? If words mean anything anymore–then absolutely, yes.” David S. D’Amato, libertarianism.org

In August 1945 Truman established US as #1 global terrorist by dropping not one but two nuclear bombs on Japanese civilians, 3 days apart: August 6 on Hiroshima and August 9 on Nagasaki, killing hundreds of thousands of civilians. The war in Europe had ended in May 1945, Japan was ‘tottering,” and Stalin, a US ally and key in defeating Hitler, was also about to attack Japan via Manchuria. But Truman didn’t want peace, he wanted “to put the world-and in particular, the [then US ally] Soviets–on notice” that a sadistic terrorist government now stalked the world."...

"Fires burned for days following the bombings, making unrecognizable wastelands

of what had been lively cities.

If words and facts yet have meaning, then

these are among the worst terrorist acts in humankind’s history (perhaps the worst)

and Truman is among history’s most abominable terrorists.”…

"In 1946, Truman signed the United Nations Charter.

In 1947 the Truman Doctrine kicked off US global Cold War Policy.

The Truman Doctrine was the United States’ first Cold War policy. Developed by Harry Truman in the first two years of his presidency, it was publicly unveiled in a speech to the US Congress in March 1947. The Truman Doctrine held that the US should provide material support to any democratic nation that found itself at risk from anti-democratic forces, namely communism. This doctrine became the basis for US policy for much of the Cold War.“…Congress granted Truman’s request for $300 million in aid to Greece and $100 million in aid to Turkey in military and economic aid.

In 1947 Truman created the CIA, NSC, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Dept. of Defense:

“In 1947, Truman signed the National Security Act, which reorganized the intelligence agencies and armed forces....The National Security Act also created the Joint Chiefs of Staff, which was made up of the senior uniformed commanders of the armed forces….The 1947 National Security Act created two national security agencies: the National Security Council…and the Central Intelligence Agency, a non military agency that is responsible for the monitoring and reporting of security of the country and its interests abroad to the president….Before the [CIA] agency was created, the post of Director of Central Intelligence was created in 1946 by Truman.”…

In 1948 Truman created the $13 billion Marshall Plan which “helped 18 European countries to recover from World War II,…to stabilize Europe economically and politically so that European nations would not be tempted by the appeal of communist parties:”

In 1949 Truman created NATO which he saw as a “world” group:

“By this treaty, we are not only seeking to establish freedom from aggression and from the use of force in the North Atlantic community, but we are also actively striving to promote and preserve peace throughout the world.”...https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/statement-the-president-the-coming-into-effect-the-north-atlantic-treaty

Christmas, 1951, Truman was desperate that his successor be an interventionist like himself: “I must keep the isolationists out of the White House:”

“Truman offered [Dwight] Eisenhower the presidency on the Democratic ticket at Christmas 1951, and not for the first time, but for the fourth."...https://lithub.com/how-the-us-soviet-relationship-shaped-eisenhowers-presidency/

The US signed and ratified the UN Charter in 1945.

Yes, thanks for that correction--Truman was in a big hurry. As to NATO, he said he sees it as a global force. Truman is really the father of today's US the first priority of which is to bind US taxpayers from birth to global bondage. Most Americans never knew this was happening--few had tv. Truman censored news about Hiroshima and Nagasaki, allowed only 1 photographer to travel to Hiroshima to take pictures.

Yes, the initial post-war years are very poorly covered in US History books and courses—even post-grad. One must dig into the numerous works produced during that period just as one must dig into the pre-war works about the great depth of antiwar sentiment present within America that produced three Neutrality Acts in an attempt to keep the nation out of the wars—remember Japan invaded China in 1931 do get the conflict started, and then there was the Italian aggression in Africa. As a source, I highly suggest George Seldes works, although there are others, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Seldes#Works

Thanks for the referral. It's an outrage that so little about this is known to Americans. Neutrality Acts don't last long in a country whose sole purpose is endless war.

I credit Curtis LeMay. When asked to pick a target, he said that after firebombing some 72 Japanese cities, there were few good choices left to set an example.

The US wanted the war to be over with and did not trust any of the feelers. I agree with the dropping of the bombs. It was a plan, long in the making. McArthur (American Caesar) deserves the credit for developing Japan as a modern democratic and industrial nation.

Quibble.

Getting the USA on-board proved to be easy thanks to Communist Ideology as its elites shared the fears of their British partners.

The US had its own native bred Red Menace scare starting in the early twentieth century. Its roots to various US entities, e.g. Wisconsin Progressives, etc. a matter of debate. I don't remember a paper of mine from my mid-twenties (now 80). Conservative Republican politicians, e.g. VandenBerg et. al. just re-opened that topic leading to McCarthyism, the John Birch Society aiding and abetting. No UK needed for that one.

Yes, few Americans know Milwaukee has a socialist city government for many years and that its traditions still live today. There’s a reason why the entire history of the war against USSR/Russia needs to be exhumed and aired tlo discover those who caused it. With the current chapter of that aggressive war, it’s easy to identify the guilty who deserve hanging, but harder to expose those further in the past, which also means dredging up who empowered Hitler and why. IMO, it would be the inverse of a Red Scare.

Thanks for the Ben Norton link. It was always going to be a multipolar world. Dominated by powers with access to the Arctic. That would be America, Russia, Europe. All have signed on to that and quibble around the margins. The weak, unresourced countries are at the margins and fall prey to big power sales pitches. The approach to managing citizenry will in the end be similar. Bad for individual freedom and agency.

Geographically things are set. China is in the Asian/Russian sphere and given access to Russian resources and population dynamics will eventually dominate that sphere.

The US is being duplicitous. They tried military and economic war against Russia to gain advantage over China and that pole. Now they’re just scrapping obsolete equipment and doing minor margin adjustments. The days of peer to peer war are over. As in the past, they still offer economic inducements to Russian elite to gain leverage over China and ultimately that pole. I have no doubt China and Russia understand the game.

The empire in decline is the Outlaw US Empire, and it has a very deep hole to escape from. Trump has uttered bold words to try and obfuscate reality but has no real ability to carry them out. The Imperial Balloon has a rip in it and it’s losing its ability to stay above the raging waters, so baggage of all sorts is jettisoned. Its passengers have no idea what fate awaits, although it’s clear the salad days are over.

Indeed it is a big hole. And I don’t see them deploying any rational measures to gain parity let alone reverse that. Financialization by the wealthy and resource extraction performed by a underclass with a small technocratic class is not a recipe for a healthy society. Oligarchs are making promises but it’s oblivious they benefit from a financialized technocracy. I don’t see much creativity to alter that in the current US politicians. They’ll keep using the same playbook until we’re all huddled around campfires.

Or until we revolt.

They’re putting the tools in place to make a successful revolt unlikely. Drones, surveillance, poor health, and limiting mobility will suppress that righteous tendency. However an aware populace with hands on the bullshit flag, ready to withhold consent, boycott, and monkey wrench the fragile technology they rely on will be very effective.

Under the current Chinese leadership I don't see any plan to dominate Russia, although this is how European and American elites view the world. As multipolarity evolves various global majority countries that had their borders set by Europeans may decide on changes - I'm particularly thinking of Africa. The ASEAN states don't want swap American domination for Chinese. But at this stage influence doesn't necessarily equate to domination.

China seeks Harmony not Hegemony, although Western Propaganda tries hard to alter that equation.

I agree. I don’t see it either. More like osmosis or economic dependency. With essentially the same means of social control throughout the world, it won’t matter.

Dear Comrades

I've just been given the exciting news that Putin will stride into the Saudi Conference with Trump to the theme tune of the Beatles classic - We Can work It Out - most apt and if like me you haven't listened to this song for years, please do so.

See the thing is, the UK has offered nothing to mankind since the Beatles, who conquered America, in the nicest sense and paved the way for many to follow with a message of PEACE.

It's highly likely that the CIA initiated, were responsible for John Lennon's murder.

As I see matters :-

1) USA Defence Stocks, warehouses empty bar some leftover stuff from the Iraqi war, much like the 30 year old batteries Israel sent to Poland/Germany for repair recently. Those production lines at US MIC require replenishing which would take knowing US Defence contractors 5-10 years.

2) There's only Gold-plated Tungsten in Fort Knox

3) US Debt cannot and will never be repaid

4) Lastly, as the Spigot-Sugar Feed, of USAID is turned off, Vassals will have to dig into their own coffers. This is where Hearts & Minds fail across the Atlantic with EU/UK Treasuries bankrupt, unable to provide basic services to their subjects.

Trump needs to do a Saudi MBS and gather all the Billionaire leaches, Political Elite and Deep State operatives into the Trump Tower basement and get to work with the bolt-cutters, much like what happened to Khashoggi in the Saudi Embassy in Turkiye if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the link on the different meanings of multipolar by US, China and the global South. This is useful to share with friends who hate Russia so much that the similar positions of Russians can be given without mention of Russia.

"Leftists" who oppose neo cons and hate Republicans can identify with this video

As a side note, Glenn Greenwald was recently on Fox and Friends saying that US caused Ukraine war and USAID and NED has been used for decades for regime change. My friends on the left blame Fox News for the election of Trump and don't notice that the Democratic party has become part of the uniparty supporting neo liberal economics. The uniparty has used fake populism to win elections and Trump has created turmoil and it is difficult to predict the outcome. Increased inflation in the US will bite.

While I 100% agree with the Europe & the UK really needed putting in their place by someone. The amount of total nonsense about the EU/UK going to be over as a civilisation or to have any relevance ever again. Is completely ridiculous. The reasons the EU/UK became what they were, was never down to politicians or their disastorous mistakes. It was in spite of them. People condemning the region as over. Are simply portraying what they wish upon the region for its crimes. Look at it rationally, there's over 400 million citizens in the region. Does everyone believe all of these people are uneducated, shrinking cowardly vassels. Or is there a very big chance someone or a group of people in individual countries. Take their country by the scruff of the neck & drag it along into the future? History would tell us so. As the saying goes if you want to know the future look into the past. Are we to believe after half a century of debauchery, corruption, warmongering & constant lies. America is the new beacon of hope for the next century? I really believe people need to take a reality check. Just because the current rulers in the EU/UK have been placed into their positions by hook or crook. Just because they're not fit for their positions. Doesn't mean this is going to last forever. Trump has 4 years. The EU/UK have been around a lot longer they've came back from 2 devastating World wars. 1 American administration isn't the end for the EU/UK. They've suffered before much more than many realise from outside the region. They'll suffer again obviously, this time their own making. But don't be thinking everyone is just going to lie down & accept failure. People are getting carried away on their emotions.

One outcome of the Vance/Hegseth speeches I hope to see is greater empowerment of all European citizens to retake their governments by abolishing the EU/NATO dictatorship. The BigLie performed since 1922 of USSR/Russia as an aggressor must be destroyed by reality and the Anti-Russian bigots removed from power everywhere and accused of promoting Nazism. Then perhaps Europe will emerge in several generations as a more enlightened and equitable place.

Europe alone ... only Europe

Article written in 2017 by French Polymath Bruno in support of a French ecologist

"I begin with the simple idea that climate change and its denial have been organizing all of contemporary politics at least for the last three decades.

Climate change plays the same role that social questions and the class struggle played over the two preceding centuries. We can understand nothing about the way inequalities have exploded for forty years, and the accompanying movement towards massive deregulation, if we don’t admit that a good part of the globalized elite had perfectly understood what was going on with the bad news about the state of the planet, which, thanks to the work of scientists, began to crystallize at the beginning of the nineties.

Since the threat was real, the elites drew the conclusion that it would be necessary to adopt two opposing courses of action. First, give up the post-war liberal dream of a common world created by the modernization of the planet—so, let’s cut ourselves off as quickly as possible, through deregulation at any price, from the rest of the inhabitants to whom we sold this dream of universality; secondly, systematically organize long-term denial of this ecological change, which nevertheless brings in not just the environment but what is called the Earth-system."

*** this was written during Trump's first term ***

"It brings two contradictory attitudes together in one same movement: first, the flight towards maximum profit while abandoning the rest of the world to its own devices (billionaires representing the “little guy”!); second, a whole people scrambling back to national and ethnic categories (“Make America Great Again”, behind a wall!); and, thirdly, the explicit denial of the geological and climatic situation. "

*** the last sentence: "If we have been abandoned by the US, we, Europeans should not dream: we will have to do it alone"

** the two paragraphs before the last sentence.

"It is legitimate as a reaction, but it is a mad political project since this national ground, this ethnic soil, simply does not exist. If globalization were a utopia—it was one reserved for those who had abandoned the idea of making a common world with the masses—then the dear old country of yore is another one. And, in the end, everyone knows this. Hence the question: can we recognize the legitimacy of this reaction and channel it in the now perfectly realist direction of a return to the ground, the territory, the Earth, that is, an Earth that is no longer national or global? If it is an alliance that is needed, then it is with the “reactionaries”, but in order to go somewhere else.

So the question has become: Can Europe once again become the common homeland for those who refuse these two utopias? It would be a new ground, as concrete as the one people are looking for with the country of old, and infinitely less limited than the space of national frontiers. After all, since it was Europe that foisted on the rest of the world this strange contradiction between global space and ancient terroir, is it not up to Europe to resolve this contradiction? Can Europeans, tempted by the return to nationalism, reoccupy their own territory and call Europe their true “mother land”? "
