Ask the Neoliberalcons who control the electoral process and their allies that control BigLie Media. But even before when you do an intensive look back, politics would vary from one pole to the other as each side rose and fell. And then you need to examine the governing document, how it was born, and what class it was meant to serve. Then you’ll have a good understanding of how the controlling groups gained their positions. And as with all previous Empires governed by oligarchies, they are loathe to lose their position and possessions as the Empire declines. Few are prognosticating what status the Outlaw US Empire’s people will have in 2075 or 2100. I have some notions that are very foggy and await some clarifying event.
We would need to scrap the Constitution and replace it with founding documents and goals that ensures government actually works effectively to solve problems and raise people's standards of living. You don't need a bill of rights for that, just respect and compassion for the governed on the part of the governing- the so-called Mandate of Heaven (acceptance by the people) - as China has proven to us, and we sure as hell don't need to vote every four years just to pretend we are free.
As Hua Bin points out in his post today about China and rare earth elements, each of the past three leaders in China had an engineering degree – Jiang Zemin with Mechanical Engineering degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Hu Jintao and Xi Jinping with Hydro Engineering and Chemical Engineering degrees from Tsinghua University. These people fix things and solve problems.

Thanks. I get satisfaction from providing them but would like my audience to be bigger. And there’re other points on the compass that need inclusion. Thanks again!
I sincerely hope you are patient and will continue to provide us with such valuable information. You are doing excellent work.
Most people look for simple solutions, failing to recognize how complex and contradictory global developments are. That’s why your articles are hard work for them—something they usually shy away from. Moreover, when Westerners read your translations, they immerse themselves in an unfamiliar "cosmos." The very nature of respectful and refined communication in Russia is foreign to a Westerner.
I read a wide range of international authors, scientists, and analysts, and I’m often a listener on Glenn Diesen’s YouTube channel, as well as on the "Neutrality Studies" channel. That’s because a broad spectrum of international experts are given a voice there.
I don’t always have to agree on every point—especially given the fact that I never assume I know the truth. I can only have an opinion and a conviction. We know nothing about the information we don’t have access to. I still don’t understand why commentators on various platforms believe they know the truth and are often quite harsh and aggressive in their rhetoric. But well, over the years, I’ve gotten used to it.
All of this, along with your detailed articles here, demands a lot of one’s lifetime. *Wink.* That’s why I can only comment and discuss to a limited extent. But I’m here regularly as a reader.
Thank you Karl. As always, deep appreciation and respect for the time, effort and insight you put into bringing us these speeches along with your perspective and those of the posters. It makes us all more informed and ultimately stronger.
Both pieces by Xi are very informative on PRC thought and comparing and contrasting to the Hegemon led West in only possible because of efforts of your good self and a few others.
We appear to be living in two parallel Earthly universes at the mo -- and it is most unfortunate that the majority in the Hegemon led universe of thought is more or less totally unaware of which is by far the more civilized due to its incessant propaganda and the rigid control of practically all public media, art forms and what passes for political discourse.
In terms of historical time the Hegemon is but a spoilt Big Baby approaching the terrible Twos while the Beacon in the East is a mature thousands of years old Sage. As the Tao and the I Ching teach us - the wise old Sage has much experience in placing some manners on Spoils Brats.

"In the next three years, China will provide..." That's the difference between China and the Outlaw Empire. Instead of navel-gazing, China's motto might as well be "Let's Make the World Great Again."
The US has lost its credentials for whatever it had and may be unable to recall nor implement wisdoms from yesteryear. There are many good Post War names of people with stature who would not be able to rise today. Some Eisenhower era Cabinet members and senior staff especially in Treasury come to mind.
The good news is that the baton is being passed to two countries on the rise. Not all of China is wonderful.

"There is usually nothing the least bit interesting or novel about denouncing this dictator: denouncing Hitler is not only the safest take perhaps in the history of discourse, but is obligatory for most and almost a sort of daily rite in modern life, a sort of banal routine as common for many as everyday things like brushing one’s teeth or putting shoes on before going about one’s day. But as will be demonstrated, the reasons for my aversion and even contempt for the dictator distinguish this unique and admittedly controversial position from the sort of boring, garden variety denunciation of the Führer that pervades most all historical and cultural discourse....." - https://theravenscall.substack.com/p/denouncing-hitler-for-very-different -

I'd be happy at some point in the future to debate your assertions regarding China's position and attitude to Taiwan, however, as China doesn't have a military base in Taiwan, as yet, then more pressing matters exist regarding American overseas bases, legal or otherwise, being used to either subjugate the locals or to launch attacks on another Sovereign country.
Well, yes, but the Chinese people have long clamored for Taiwan’s return once it was ceded to Japan in 1895. Rejuvenation and the Reunification of China were the two of the primary goals of Sun yat-Sen during the 1912 Revolution which established the RoC. IMO, the situation differs little from Hong Kong or Macao. For China, it’s all about sovereignty. For the Outlaw US Empire, it’s all about making trouble for China and violating the UN Charter as it does.
My simple point is that when the State says you have to remain in the State because you 'belong' to us, that's tyrannical, that's fascist.
I didn't even know that Taiwan was ever ceded to Japan, that's how basically uneducated I am.
But no matter. It does change the basics: States saying 'You belong to us' is fascist. For want of a better word. It is at odds with right to self determination.
If people call for it you have to ask which people. The 'State' people or the isolated people ?
But you don't need to, it's simply interesting, but it doesn't change the point.
I know personally Chinese that firmly believe Taiwan must 'return' to China. And I know when I can get them to think about the realities of personal choice, etc, they fall dumb. Because they are simply jingoistic. Maybe the most mindlessly jingoistic people in the world I don't know, definitely extremely so. And I can well believe the 'hundred years of shame' for I see it in them. The feeling of inferiority. They desperately want to 'rise above'. They want to be richer, more successful they want their Chinese culture (which has been destroyed of course) to nevertheless be revered and extolled, they want china to be the leading nation of the world .. on and on and on....
They are the most boring and depressing people. No discernable love for anything or anyone, no enjoyment, no fun, for all their millions of tiktok shorts of lovely little babies and funny practical jokes etc...
Money, money, money...
Yep. They're alright. Let 'em be. They've built a great thing in China, They are all hard working and honest etc. But they bore me shitless and I'd hate to live there like that and they're in the wrong when they demand forcible incorporation of Taiwan, or any place else, on the grounds of 'you belong, you are ours'.
Ironic really, I guess if that's the right word. China is the only friend Russia has we might think (it's all very poorly defined isn't it?) and Russia is helping people assert their right to self determination, the same right hat is inimical to the Chinese.
I guess between themselves they must have struck an understanding that the Donbas always really was Russian.
I understand your argument, but I’d vote to not be a member of the USA if given a choice—Stephen Douglas’s Popular Sovereignty. I see a solution to the problem which calls for the elimination of nations states and the adoption of global citizenship and thus some form of global government since laws and regulations governing behavior are still required. But for that to transpire, humans will need to evolve well beyond their current state. This issue is at the heart of an essay that I know needs to be written, but I’ve yet to find the time and mental peace for its composition.
Why can we not have statesmen like Xi and Putin instead of the steady stream of brain dead idiots like Biden and Trump?

Much as I admire China there is a basic flaw in its position and that's their attitude to Taiwan.
People have a right to self determination. This is indisputable. Though it is much disputed.
People are what matters. Not 'the State'.
When a State denies people the right to self determination that is a fascist action putting the State above the people.
Thank you for that but I see nothing to debate. I believe China to be totally insistent that Taiwan 'belongs' to China and must return to China.
That's clearly the 'State' of China.
I'm either right about that or wrong.
It's gonna amaze ( and enlighten ?) me a great deal if I am wrong.
