I echo your hope but don't have much hope for it as McConnell's in the Senate. He reminds me of Jesse Helms and other Republican reactionaries who I wouldn't dare classify as Conservative.

Hoping that the new Speaker of the House in the US will have a moderating influence on McConnell.
McConnell has been an astute politician but perhaps mental sclerosis has set in.
