Thank you, Karl, for presenting the Chinese statement. What a barn burner. Really puts things in perspective. Wouldn't be surprised if He Lifeng showed up an hour late and kept looking at his watch throughout the meeting. If Bessant comes in with an attitude he's going to get reamed. The statements that will be released after the meeting should be very interesting.

You have to marvel at Chinese diplomacy. They agree to talk to Bessent, but only in Switzerland. Moreover they're not sending anyone special, just a lesser party luminary (albeit one who knows the US) who was on his way to France anyway to enjoy a warm tête-à-tête with French industrialists. Sort of a, 'I think we can fit you in Tuesday...' thing. lol

Bessent speak with forked tongue. Him liar. Me no trust.

😁😁

I don't trust Trump either, or now that I think about it, I don't trust any USSA politicians except Thomas Massie and damn few others.

His eminence will soon announce China's surrender to the Empire's demands and claim that an (un)equal treaty has been concluded. A Hollywood blockbuster of his eminence's glorious triumph will soon follow, ticket prices to be announced.

“Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends” Imperial buffoonery are its finest as the wannabe tries being all of Lewis Carrol’s characters all at once—except Alice, who unlike Trump feeds her head.

Trump is big on Hollywood being made in the usa. The absurdity is that no usa citizen would watch it as it will be an expensive typical rerun trash movie, the cameras are made in China as is the paint for the sets, the clothes for the actors and even the toilet paper. The only audience that will watch it will sitting under the trees in some outdoor setting with bootleg copies made in Philippines drinking Indonesian lager. The Aussies will be laughing so hard they will scorch the bbq and forget to bet on the outcome.

Vice Premier He Lifeng cuts to the chase with those remarks and that is a very good thing. Methinks China has just appropriated the WTO from under the nose of the idiot usa, another very good thing. The problem still remains as Bessant is the cut from the same cloth as Trump - unintelligent and a plod. So good luck to China as they are likely to find themselves holding a pack of aces given the current trajectory of every one of Trump's bold adventures.

Every day I look at the next seven days coming up and think that I must be dreaming given Trump's losing streak at the table. However, on the trade front there is a major supply side delay arising and consequently the shortfall in shipping despatches from China is going to severely rattle the usa consumer confidence for another six months imo.

And then Trump announces some daft 'deal' he thinks he made with the Yemen government where they will stop bombing his ships when Trump stops bombing Yemeni civilians. Just when I think that reality is concrete he appears to have embellished the so called deal and the Yemen representative has to set him straight.... and then another FA-18 goes overboard due to a cable failure.

This Presidency has all the hallmarks of the roadrunner and coyote slapstick. Long may Trump reign ;(

I see a similarity with the US-Russia "negotiations" where Russian leaders had to explain over and over again how their people have been attacked and wrongly treated. The outcome will be the same for the Chinese leaders – pretentious gestures toward a "deal" from the US side and talk of "partnering" but continued aggression and bullying with no fairness in sight. China is also beginning to realize there is no rational way to work with this US administration so the only alternative will be to fight them to the bitter end (of US hegemony).

Yes, and that’s what makes it easy to make such a strong statement, plus China already practiced on Team Biden.

Trump has no cards. Made in America stands for Deconstruction around the world: Endless wars, weapons trafficking, drug trafficking, human trafficking, Hollywood's sex, porn and sleaze trade.

Trump keeps blinking first, as you highlighted here:

"The US high-level has been easing its grip on adjusting tariff measures and has taken the initiative to convey information to the Chinese side through various channels, hoping to discuss with the Chinese side on tariffs and other issues."

...and he must have something in his eyes, since he also blinked first with Yemen too, as I reported in my latest article: https://geopolitiq.substack.com/p/escalation-in-gaza-but-de-escalation?r=25fc37

Bessent did say on-going tariff war (that he helped create) is unsustainable and he expects de-escalation in the trade war between the world's two largest economies.

Sounds like US caved first!

It's all bluster and then you get called out.

Perhaps He Lifeng will pass this url to Bessant to read on the long flight home:

https://cynthiachung.substack.com/p/why-the-tariff-war-is-going-to-cost

"Below is an interesting tiktok video where a Walmart receipt from two years ago for one month of groceries is compared to how much it would cost at the time of filming the video, which was June 2024. The receipt from two years ago amounted to $126.67 for one month of groceries for one person. What the same products would cost today came to $414.39, that is more than 3x what he paid in 2022.

[tiktok.com/@indigenousthought/video/7384966520847437102?q=sewerlidd&t=1746396388265]

Most Americans who are earning low-income wages shop at Walmart for what are supposed to be among the lower price bracket. So this is very telling about the decline in living standard that is occurring within the country at an incredible pace."

The entire report is a sobering read.

I’m a very disciplined shopper and invested in several freezers, have a large pantry in a garage and do a lot of home canning. I’ve long had specific market price ranges for various items that I’ll only purchase when they enter my price range. I also shop at a restaurant supply store that sells bulk products for much better prices than retail grocers. And I only need to feed two people most of the time. My state also has no sales tax and its minimum wage is double the federal rate at $14.70/hr. Even so, we still have a very noticeable homeless problem. We consider ourselves fortunate and worry for our kids and grandkids.

I watched a video on Taiwan and the US approach to domination. I did not save the link. The woman from Taiwan said that this interview was the only one done by the West.

There were demonstrations of between 200,00 and 300,00 people against the new government policies. These include foreigners serving in their government. Movement of their industries to the US and paying US through buying military equipment. It was noted that is was similar to the takeover of the Ukraine government. This is part of the Trump tariff effort.

This sounds like the rape of Russia in the early 1990's. I tried to find the YouTube and failed. If anyone else has seen it, please post here.

If this is actually going on, it is part of the move to Asia of the US empire.

As an aside, the acceleration of the pace of you tube is amazing. Some times I can go from one live session to another live session.
