My view is that social systems and processes evolve to meet a need, looking backward to solve historic issues and prevent future ones.

Ukraine is a lost cause. Western 'democracies' might be, too.

WaPo's 'Democracy dies in darkness' is so hollow, they are aiding and abetting in broad daylight.

An amazing topic. An agency which overlooks If all laws are followed, all Citizens get their rights, and where one can ask or conplain when one thinks that laws are not followed or rights are not received.

In other countries this is often done by private laywers or NGOs, and in a very selctive manner.

Clearly, there is not everything gold in Russia, but they are on a good way.

Prosecutor's Office as a public service of justice. Ensuring that its public servants follow its public service ethic and its people receive what's due to them. Its duty is to expose and deal with official and commercial corruption, administrative theft and maladministration. It encourages the people to come to it with complaints and evidence to help its investigations. It's a massive undertaking, and from the report here one that is only beginning to bear fruit and have successes.

The Chinese have been embarking on a similar enterprise and are perhaps further along the process. A state whose primary purpose is building the welfare of all its people, as Russia and China have committed to, needs comprehensive investment in its people through these judiciary public services.

Excellent comment! It’s one of several enablers of good governance. Its most important drivers are those of its leadership that begins with the Russian President—like Putin, s/he must demand superb performance of their vast number of duties so the Prosecutor General can do the same while growing a culture within the organization that positively demands of itself.

As you indicate, such performance is another aspect that sets China and Russia apart from the West.

Both Russia and China have historic and moral underpinnings for anti-corruption actions and social assistance by the State pushed out to provinces and towns through a decentralized bureaucracy. That makes corruption a crime by individuals. In the US corruption is systematic and ongoing, a crime by government and its favored corporations.

On another note it looks like a lot of Ukrainians and western soldiers and mercenaries are going to be tried in Russia as terrorists and shot. Decisions have consequences.

It's easy to understand why Putin is compared to FDR. Who knows if he can actually achieve all of that, but it's a comprehensive plan for the well-being of the people. It's a statement of an enviable social contract.

To get the full scope of Putin’s vision for Russia’s future, read his Leap Day Address to the Federal Assembly, https://karlof1.substack.com/p/leap-day-putins-address-to-the-federal Many months and tours went into its formation that I also reported on and are worth examining if one has the time.
