Most Gym readers should know by now that the deindustrialization of the Collective West is due to the morphing of Industrial Capitalism to Financial Capitalism as Capitalism sought to increase its profits by moving its industrial plant to lower cost locations which resulted in the replacement of most industrial manufacturing jobs with service industry jobs, all of which was greatly facilitated by financial interests who sought to increase the level of rents they obtained.
The US is an organised crime racket, this is an underlying reason why the US will not re-industrialise. Take the previous Anglo empire, it's still in a process of decay and it's over one hundred years since the bell tolled for the British empire at the end of WW1. The US in its current form cannot get out of that cycle. In the meantime its satellites will drop like rotten fruit from the tree.
Part 1 was magnificent, hoping Part 2 is better. America’s biggest problem is blaming everyone else when it should be looking in the mirror, but with our elites that shall never happen
Crooke gets it though I have to think his praise of Vance is unwarranted, Vance is a globalist like his boss Thiel who have helped bringing us here. SV and the bankers are at odds with new money always disagreeing with old money. Another point missed is that it didn’t have to end this way, America had numerous warnings of this outcome yet tptb refused to see the handwriting on the wall. America has brought the same democracy here that it brings around the world. Buckle up rough seas ahead
As soon as Bankers stopped lending money to existing/future captains of industry/entrepreneurs, pen pushing and counting money being their stock-in-trade, never again to venture outside their crony-circle-jerk then it really did all fall apart.

Eureka. As an undergraduate in the mid to late 1970s I was heavily exposed to the development economists like Myrdal and George Beckford. As far back as those years they recognized that enclave industries which were very common in the developing world, as part of the Puerto Rican model promoted by the US, was not the path to industrialization. But they dd not live long enough to at least observe the Chinese experience and their success in creating an industrialized economy. Unfortunately early stage industrialization has been virtually destroyed in the Caribbean as we have been relegated by Wall Street and the US government (via the IMF and World Bank) tourism plantations providing recreational services for the American middle class and to turn the US dollar income to importing American goods and services. Meanwhile most of our former development economists now worship at the altar of neo-liberal economics.
Agree with your assessment. We really must overturn and delegitimize Neoliberalism and reinstate the goals of Classical Economics. That makes this latest Hudson/Wolff discussion mandatory, https://michael-hudson.com/2025/06/the-value-war/
The Chinese have Lu Feng while America has Paul Krugman. Krugman got the Nobel when the electric-chair would've been more appropriate.
The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows where?
But Trump's strong
Strong enough to carry you
He ain't heavy, he's your brother. . . . .
Wouldn't have made any difference who was/is running the US Big-Top but Trump was fortunate he was running against a sadist in 2016 and a non-entity in 2024.
In 2016 Trump chose Rex Tillerson (ex CEO Exxon) as Secretary of State after an introduction from Robert Gates, Defence under Bush with a seamless transition under Obama (a red-flag right there) and Condoleezza Rice after dinner at Mar a Lago. Few have been more disparaging to Trump than Tillerson.
Trump also chose Nimrata Randhawa Haley for the UN on the recommendation of Mitt (the shit) Romney whose Bain Capital Fund uprooted their US factories brick-by brick to China. I expect that Mitt is one of the US Senators who signed Lindsey Graham's NATO-Russia proposal.
One small step for man one giant circle-jerk for mankind.

Financial conmen always look for the easy option like kicking-the-can.
And that’s why every American company has basically become a hedge fund. Trump being the face of the demise is so perfect
You're not wrong GG.
