"Complex" negotiations is a euphemism for a child's faerie tale about president's clothes.

If Trump cut them off today Kiev could hit nothing! Trump has not and that makes him emperor with wicked tailors. He has no clothes.

Listen to what the neocons say: 'no negotiation until cease fire'. This is absolutely a non starter for Russia! Even Henry Kissinger talked to N Vietnam while the MIC was making money!

The no negotiations should be considered in the perspective that USA and its puppets are NOT agreement capable. The fully supported ceasefire violations show the US' lack of commitment to what it says and agrees to!

Vicious circle listen to what they say and remember they lie.

US wants the war to go on, too much MICMATT money to be made!

Russia must keep on with producing munitions and weapons and wearing down the US. Who have ideologues with no experience in war other than non stop terror bombing to no end.

Hades might freeze before Russia gets a fair turn at negotiations.

Russia will just end the conflict unconditionally. If the roots still are unresolved, then no carrots for Trump and NATO. My guess is Zelensky will be dead by then.

The illusion of "making" money is a fallacy, it is really the siphon of misallocation and is the tell that re-industrialisation is a pipe dream. The eurocrats are using the hoax Russia threat to strip citizens savings accounts to forestall financial collapse. Subsidies (bribes) will be handed to the likes of VW to build kubelwagens so some semblance of industry is retained. The western elites are making the choice of regime collapse and chaos.

This post is very useful to me.

Not for the last couple of days, but too many days I have gone through hundreds of comments on MOA. Framing these comments, Karl's comments from MOA and others was an excellent summary of the difficulties ahead to reach a settlement.

I did not realize MI6 was the driver for the Nazi incursions into Russia. To me, it is totally stupid because these strikes only increase the resolve and support in Russia to go all the way and finish the job.

A thought: maybe the good outcome of the war is to show the Russia that a major cosmology change is required in the West to get over their Religious quest of defeating Russia. This goes beyond resources and economics to a fundamental world view that is necessary to maintain the liberal order. We are defined by who we are against.

Do people in the security state read and understand the issues to the level of this blog?

Do they ignore contrary voices?

Do they read something like this and build a counter argument?

For something this important, the willful blindness is staggering.

I know this sounds like a broken record 'it's all about the money' but draining the citizens of their wealth AND freedoms will not be pretty if it continues. And, we see the blindness of 'leaders' but do they really see it? Perhaps some are 'true hate believers' while others are pursuing the money. Some of these souls, in my estimation, are willfully wicked which is the only explanation my limited knowledge of human character can grasp because the intent of destruction is beyond my capacity.

Karl, the piece is well done. Bravo.

I agree that this goes beyond resources and economics Don . . . . Religious quest . . . to maintain the liberal order'.

A question one could then ask is, if Russia were resource scarce and not rich would they be the West's insignificant other? It follows then that being resource rich enhances your sphere of influence and thereby diminishes your adversary's power/control.

The Eurostocracy ran the Plantation for five centuries pillaging and plundering armed with a Royal Seal & cannon, drafting/carving the Rules Based Order in stone. Then the pesky Americans came along (a similar resentment as we see today existed initially but WW11 and the need of their services, better the devil you know, kinfolk, share the spoils, half a loaf is better than none reality and avoid the emergence of the Slavic/Asiatic Hordes at any cost like we see today and immediately after Great Patriotic War).

Regarding religion, this is just another 'control mechanism' praying on the vulnerabilities of the masses, these Animals are Non-Believers who love to hold Court. Well the ball is actually now in Russia's/China's Court, hells-bells, even the Savages in the 3rd World are being granted a seat at the table. The veneer of Independence, their masters could live with but the resources/commerce/plunder still passed through the Eurostocracy's transit routes, supply chains & eventually the Counting Houses.

The Merchants of Venice are fast becoming The Paupers of Park Lane.

Trumplethinskin cutting a deal with Russia and I'd assume China soon after as for the next century at least Russia-China, those two, Abbot & Costello, Laurel & Hardy, Morcombe & Wise, joined at the hip, near invincible as a pair, the newly anointed, is viewed by the Western Elite as Sacrilege.

"...why negotiate when the other side can't deliver on what it agrees to?" This is complicated by the fact that there is no singular "other side" but rather several (many) belligerents and militants standing or hiding behind Zelensky and the combatants he supposedly commands. These are hell-bent on exacting a strategic victory over Russia – whatever it takes – and that includes factions/minions entrenched in the US Deep State. All of these malevolent actors still hold power in one position or another and are loathe to accede to Putin's demands in defiance of what Trump wants. That is why the Russia must continue to prosecute the SMO with measured force until all the hold-outs from peace are vanquished or neutered.

Unfortunately the terrorism being inflicted on Russians and Slavs more generally will continue indefinitely, therefore eternal vigilance will be required. The only saving grace will be the likely collapse of the West's economic system that cannot sustain its former military advantage of projected power. The public will suffer as increasingly scarce resources are taken away from the commons, a condition that already is manifest in the West, just like the insatiable capitalists' economic take-over of Russia in the 1990's.

As Scott Ritter has documented - there is a significant multi-generational population of Bandera cheering Ukrainian diasporans residing now as US citizens in USA. (see essay atscottritter@substack.com ). They are politically active with direct contacts with Ukrainian Nationalist compatriots and pose a potential threat to Trump as he attempts to dis-engage from the Russia-Ukraine debacle. Their lobby within the Senate is significant (as is also the Israeli lobby) and they will confound any attempts at US-Russian rapprochement.

Sir:

I agree with everything you say but I would characterize the players, and the play, a little differently.

The actors are 1) Russia, 2) the citizens of the nations in the West, 3) the globalist-elites and 4) the nationalist-elites.

It is the globalist-elites who hate all things Russian and seek to destroy the Russian government and the Russian people. This hate goes back centuries. The nationalist-elites do not harbor such deep hatred. They see Russia as a potential economic partner. The globalist-elites control the nations, the economies and the citizens in Europe. They also controlled the US prior to Trump’s revolution. It is they who are at the forefront of weaponizing Ukraine against Russia. To them, the cost of the war to Ukraine does not enter into the calculation. Every Russian killed goes into the plus column. Every Ukrainian killed is a zero and not recorded. Once Ukraine has been destroyed, the citizens of countries a little further west will then be weaponized by the globalist-elites, Poland, the Baltic States, Romania, Moldova, and thrown into the meat-grinder to kill Russians. (Please note that the globalist-elites ruling Europe are ramping up the narrative to prepare its citizens for total war against Russia.)

Trump has thrown a monkey wrench into this strategy. He was brought to power with the help of the nationalist-elites. Having said that, the globalist-elites still have much power in the US. Trump’s task is as gigantic as the Labors of Hercules. He can only move so fast in his pruning of the giant thorn thicket that the globalist-elites have constructed over the last century.

Trump genuinely wants the US to become a partner with Russia but he has to go slowly. The negotiations between the US and Russia over the war in Ukraine are theater only. Both sides know that they have no control over Ukrainian actions. The globalist-elites are pulling the strings.

The Russian government understands all this. They are in a war of attrition against the globalist-elites. Since the West has a population about seven times that of Russia, Russia must impose loses of at least seven to one, otherwise they lose this attrition war. This is why they go slow and husband their forces. Russia looks to the war beyond Ukraine.

What is the end game? Both Russia and Trump are attacking the globalist-elites with a pincer move. By weakening Europe economically, Trump weakens the globalist-elites. Starve the host, starve the parasite. As the globalist-elites weaponize more and more of Europe’s citizens to implement their Russophobia, their control over their puppets weakens. People get to the point where they have nothing more to lose and they will rebel against their masters. The pitchforks will come out. Nationalism will rise and globalism will fall.

An addendum: How can you tell the nationalist-elites from the globalist-elites? Israel is the touchstone. The globalist-elites hate Israel because it is a nation. They hate all nations. The nationalist-elites love Israel. This divide also points to the wars that the nationalist-elites support, i.e., those that help the state of Israel.

Trump is a nationalist. He has been embraced by the nationalist-elites. Trump is turning his back on globalist aspirations and attempting to make the US a great nation once again. (It may become a theocracy, but that is a different rant. :) )

The last-case plan for both Trump and, increasingly, the cabal backing the rest of NATO seems to be toward engineering a US exit from NATO such that a proper war with Russia can be affected.

As appealing as it might be to a faction in Russia to wreck bits of Europe free of US response, in actuality such a conflict remains a trap into which to lure a horrified US--again. A third time.

Team Putin is not interested in a wider kinetic war and is in fact continuing to buy time for other measures to bear fruit. The ploy of UN administration is a poison pill in its rejection, such that it exposes again to the Global South how little western parties actually want peace. It will serve to protect from inevitable accusations that Russia is at fault when the 30 days run out without renewal.

It will be interesting if there are more private golf games in the offing with NATO's peripheral members. Trump won't trade any American city for a European one, even some formerly very nice places. Isolating the hawks is another approach to bring Europe to heel.

The aim of the Great Patriotic War was Demilitarisation and DeNazification. The Soviet Union succeeded in realising those aims. The AngloAmerican Allies contributed to achieving demilitarisation, but ingested the Nazis into their body politics, subsequently growing them into a controlling entity. [cf the Canadian Parliament glorifying an old Nazi]

The Israel project was always ethnofascist (Nazi). It was ingested into the American governance and administration, and has metastasised into a growing tumour pressing against and atrophying the rest of the American national brain.

Hence the actual wars against the orcs - imaginary race of evil goblins - currently Russian [unprovoked invaders] and Palestinian [illegally inhabiting Greater Israel], then Iranian [Islamic terrorists], soon to be Chinese [unfairly commercially competing, and about to invade their own land]. Also against any nation exhibiting socialism with local characteristics [commies] 50+ times since World War II, and continuing. The "Holocaust" also killed socialists as communists.

Psychopathy and sociopathy in individuals, groups and nations is relatively untreatable, but invites reciprocity - do back to the nutter what they're inflicting on you and others. Blood feud doesn't have happy endings.

Removing yourself out of the range of the agents of the disasters only works for those not trapped within it.

Disabling the agent of destruction and suffering seems the only proper strategy. Belling the cat begs the question for the mice: How?

Toxic orthodoxies [correct beliefs and opinions entailing systematic harm to self and others] are difficult to detoxify. Persuasion of the adoption of benign orthodoxies based on mutual benefit seems to be required. Acting them out in reality as BRICS movement is attempting holds promise.

Incidentally, in a social competitive game like boxing, when the end-of-round bell sounds [temporary ceasefire], if a pugilist hits his defenceless opponent, he is disqualified. But Ukraine isn't a social fair game, and has no referee, and at the Americans' insistence, Russia complied with the deception and got punched. But in the longer term, the wider situation, Russia isn't fooled [again].

Hmmm... this entire farce hinges on one thing; namely that Trump wants to do a 'deal' but nothing he's actually done (as opposed to shooting his mouth off) reveals anything of the sort! I think the entire pantomime is just that, a pantomime, Trump is playing footsie with Russia by pretending to want one thing, whilst all the while, doing something else.

I think some the 'pundits' you refer to here, seem to think that Trump is anxious to end the war, that he's being manipulated by the 'deep state'. Bullshit! It's all theatre. The CIA is MI6 and MI6 is the CIA. Everything the CIA sees, MI6 sees, at least as far as the proxy war is concerned. It's as Putin says; it'll be over when Russia says it's over.

The most interesting element of the USA hegemonic delusion is that it assumes it can manage three or four simultaneous battle fields and win every one. It is ably encouraged by the UKEuropean fanatics.

I am certain Russia is mainly talking with USA because it is convenient to be seen to be doing so and has no illusions about the duplicity, malevolence and ignorance of the gangsters in the USA political and oligarchic class. Just as the USA in likely using the talks to distract from the genocidal activities it leads in the Middle East, I guess Russia finds it convenient to distract from the extraordinary expansion and consolidation of BRICS. Meanwhile the Ukraine war will stagger on with an occasional outburst from the Russian freedom fighters.

It is possible that the traditional US allies will be burnt by their sun worship.

I believe there is a different perspective that needs to be focused on with regards to this conflict. For the Russians, meaning Putin and his "stavka", this was never about Ukraine. The US empire is in collapse and the Russians have been attempting to manage that decline in such a way that it doesn't panic so much as to go nuclear (which is the only card the US actually has). This has been the long term agenda for Putin and he has spent the past 25 years getting Russian ready. The negotiations and the activity at the front are metered carefully by the Russians. Particularly with the military actions you see acceleration sometimes and then pauses. Yes, those are to be expected in an intense engagement but there are deeper reasons as well. With the help of other nations there has been an effort to corral the US and guide it as it collapses.

This misses the point that President Trump wants to end the Ukrainian war (or at least end US involvement), but there are a lot of politically important players (the Deep State, the Democrats, the EuroScum, much of the media) that want the war to continue.

An equally valid assessment of the situation is that Presidents Trump & Putin are waiting for Zelensky to do something sufficiently outrageous to give President Trump cover for washing his hands of the Ukraine. Then the hope is that the EuroScum will chicken out, NATO will be rendered pointless, and Russia will do what has to be done -- probably with support from the UN.

Remember that the root of Russia's concern has been the almost 20 year aggressive expansion of NATO towards the Russian border. Military victory in the Ukraine would not fix that problem from Russia's perspective. Presumably Russia realizes that President Trump is willing to fix that root cause -- but it will take time for him to defang the US Deep State and the EuroScum.
