This is a very important statement by Mr. Putin:

"Here I want to emphasize one more aspect. The Oreshnik missile system is not just an effective hypersonic weapon. Due to its striking power, ESPECIALLY IN A MASSIVE, GROUP APPLICATION... [my emphasis] the results of its use against enemy targets will be comparable in effect and power to strategic weapons."

I was greatly surprised when I saw a grainy and distant video of the Oreshnik impacts in Ukraine. I had assumed that a single hypersonic missile was used against the target. However there were at least a dozen strikes in quick succession, and they all fell within the confines of the large industrial concern that was targeted.

This demonstrates a quantum leap in terms of missile technology. It's a single ballistic missile of considerable range releasing a dozen or more hypersonic warheads that strike with precision. That capability puts Russia in a weapons category all by itself. Mr. Putin's praise of the developers is certainly justified on that basis alone. However there could be more to the weapon that Putin has not yet revealed.

Brief background: we know that Russia has tested hypersonic glide vehicles (HGV) that were launched from an ICBM platform. Those HGV are said to be manoeuvrable within the atmosphere. We also know that Russia has air launched hypersonic missiles which can also manoeuvre.

The point? It's plausible that the Oreshnik warheads are manoeuvrable and independently targetable. They would have a large radius of combat capable of targeting huge areas, like small-European-country huge. In this instance all the warheads arrived in the same general vicinity. But we can't rule out independent manoeuvring from that fact alone. So I guess it's still unclear if the Oreshnik has this capability, but it wouldn't surprise me at all that it does.

On a different but related point about the Oreshnik, Mr. Putin made a point about which there is no doubt at all: it is a new *strategic* weapon. Moreover it's not a chemical, biological or nuclear weapon at all, so it doesn't run afoul of any arms conventions. Simply put, in this configuration it's a hypersonic cluster weapon. The effect of many hypersonic missiles impacting in the same area would be devastating - like a tactical nuke.

Russia is the only country to have demonstrated this capability. That's a global level strategic advantage, and such things do not come along every day.

My old buddy at MoA PavewayIV agreed to your hypothesis which is also mine. For semi-dispersed targets like airbases, it's perfect. For targets even further afield--brigade HQs spread out well behind the LOC and from each other, etc. Imagine a salvo of several. I'll wager the others mentioned are of a similar type with shorter range--a very different type of MLRS and far more devastating for urban targets.

Yes, more precise targeting over a dispersed area that minimizes the impact on civilians.

I posted the following three Notes today, which, taken together, indicate why the Russians have now used this new missile system:

Here we go. Some US officials are considering whether to give Ukraine nuclear weapons… What could go wrong, eh? By the way, all of Ukraine’s weapons it inherited at the end of the Cold War were returned to Russia. So what the US is talking about here is giving Ukraine US nuclear weapons - which would be an immediate existential threat to Russia - which means Russia would immediately destroy Kiev and take over Ukraine - and then threaten nuclear retaliation against the US under Russia’s new nuclear doctrine.

“Several officials even suggested that Mr. Biden could return nuclear weapons to Ukraine that were taken from it after the fall of the Soviet Union. That would be an instant and enormous deterrent. But such a step would be complicated and have serious implications.”

Trump’s Vow to End the War Could Leave Ukraine With Few Options

https://archive.is/4G56L#selection-4567.0-4567.63

And here we go again… Ukraine wants Aegis Ashore “air defense” complexes installed in Ukraine - which is precisely what the Russian SMO is intended to prevent…

"But the Americans have them. Ukraine will turn to the U.S. for the transfer of such weapons," the agency's interlocutor said.

This is the Aegis missile defense system, which is designed to protect against short- and intermediate-range ballistic missiles.

According to open sources, as of 2016, the Aegis missile defense complexes are capable of hitting targets at transatmospheric altitudes.

The Interfax-Ukraine writes, citing its sources, that Ukraine is working on obtaining American THAAD missile defense systems.”

Ukraine turns to US for new air defense systems or Patriot modernization after russian missile strike — media

https://ukranews.com/en/news/1048963-ukraine-turns-to-us-for-new-air-defense-systems-or-patriot-modernization-after-russian-missile

A thought occurs to me...

What if the US and Ukraine talking about 1) Tomahawks, 2) Aegis Ashore, and 3) nuclear weapons - actually means the US using the Aegis Ashore installations in Poland and Romania to strike Russia with Tomahawks?

That's instant WWIII... This may be why Russia is explicitly designating the Aegis Ashore installations as a priority target - because Russia already knows this is being discussed in Washington.

After all, how much different is it - or seems to the morons in Washington - between giving Ukraine permission to use ATACMS to hit Russia and using the Aegis Ashore system to hit Russia? Obviously it is enormously different - but the morons in Washington don't comprehend that.

Your best comment in a while. TBH, I don't subscribe to you because of your comment this morning where you made an unnecessary ad hominem attack on Trump supporters through Sonar 21 - conflating personal animus with analysis is a mistake, frankly. You may be right, I don't care, as I'm not a US voter, but it seems to me if you're in the business of appealing to a wide readership of different voices then you don't go pissing off a portion (potentially a majority) of your readership.

In answer to your points: to my mind the Aegis onshore installations are Russia's number 1 target if they attack anything outside Ukraine's borders. Rightly so. Trump was the one who walked away from the Intermediate Missile Treaty in 2019, and Trump was also the one who began the in-earnest weapons' build-up of Ukraine in his first term.

Russia has a far superior military just now, but it is not a military of conquest. Nor does Russia have a slave empire of vassal states willing to commit financial or actual suicide by cop as per the US' EU minions. The majority of this was laid out in the Rand Report of 2019.

Overall, I think this is Biden's (if he's even in control, and I don't think so) turd in Trump's punchbowl; a little curve ball for him to inherit on day 1 in the Oval Office.

We can all roll our eyes and condemn it as pathetic; but WW3 is potentially a hair-trigger away. And since I also believe that this is existential for both parties for different reasons (Russia - security) / USA (dollar supremacy, and therefore hegemony through the Institutions), this will escalate and go beyond the wire.

I think you should all pray to Jesus Christ, repent your sins, and seek salvation through His resurrection. After that, this world don't matter....

"Marat Khairullin

Ukropia is a criminal state

Burn down the "blat-hut"

An attentive observer could notice that our aviation began to carry out bombing strikes on Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkov not only on industrial facilities, but also on buildings that, it would seem, had no direct relation to the SVO goals. For example, on office and business centers.

The Iskander strike on the hotel in Dnepropetrovsk can also be classified in this category.

In the public sphere, there was talk of some mercenaries stationed there. In the non-public, professional community, it is clearly stated that the priority target is call centers.

Today, Ukraine has become a world leader in international telephone fraud. In 2021, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs estimated its scale at 100 thousand Ukrainian calls per day. And the annual damage from this criminal activity amounted to 70 billion rubles stolen from ordinary Russians. Sberbank alone recorded 4.5 million complaints per year.

The capital of telephone scammers in Ukraine is Dnepropetrovsk. Most of the rented premises in this city are used for call centers that rob Russians.

The main owner of call centers in Dnepropetrovsk is considered to be the gang "Nines", which is led by the Georgian hereditary bandit Zurab Lekeshvili (nickname Zurik) and his accomplice Vitaly Proskurin (nickname Boxer).

"Nines" in Dnepropetrovsk is the basic structure for the formation of the Nazi battalions "Dnepr", "Kraken" and "Aidar" (all banned in the Russian Federation). The first call center in Dnepropetrovsk was organized by the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who also created "Nines" in its current form.

In 2023, Kolomoisky was imprisoned; by that time, the chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration was SBU General Serhiy Lysak.

Lysak is Budanov's right hand. Both Lysak and Budanov are personal creatures of the current MI6 director Richard Moore. He personally selected these bastards as part of the so-called "Zelensky call". Zelensky respects and likes Moore very much and regularly calls him for advice.

One of the main tasks assigned to Lysak is to seize control over the "Nines" gang, as well as the gang of Mikhail Koshlyak, the president of the Ukrainian Judo Federation.

MI6, like any intelligence agency, loves to work with organized crime.

The hotel in Dnepropetrovsk is one of the fiefdoms of "Devyatka" and Lysak. There are several large call centers located there. In fact, they were the ones that were the target of the attack. From that moment on, call centers became legitimate targets for our military.

Ukraine under Zelensky has become a real "criminal house". Under him, there has been an explosive growth in the production of synthetic drugs - Ukraine is becoming a world center for the sale of mephedrone and Alpha PVR (street name for flakka, salt, crystals).

Ukraine under Zelensky has also become a world leader in the sale of human organs - the only country to allow the official removal of organs without the donor's consent. And again, there is a direct connection to the Zelensky family through the owner of a network of private clinics where they are served.

Online casinos, fake crypto exchanges, arms trade, human trafficking, mass export of prostitutes - of all genders, including children, blockchain without state control, private prisons in the hands of Western intelligence agencies - whatever you want. Any abomination for your money.

And in all these enterprises, without exception, the participation of Western intelligence services can be traced. And all this is done with the sole purpose of making trouble for Russia, weakening it.

Exactly the same black hole was made out of Chechnya on the eve of the well-known events. Georgia went through exactly the same thing, and so on. All those who advocate for Ukraine's full incorporation into Russia must understand what kind of people we will then have to deal with inside our own country. Do we need this? Wouldn't it be better to gain a foothold on the border and burn the "blat-khata" itself to hell. Leave one or two entrances to Sheremetyevo and filter it. Long and properly - it will cost much less..."

I note that the previous world leader in the trafficking or human organs was Kosovo also courtesy NATO. Sounds like an excellent pick for a target with an invincible weapon.

Thanks uncle. I have a question: What's wrong with "capitulation"? NATO lost in Ukraine, or better the entire Ukraine gambit since WW2 failed, which it has. What's wrong with that admission? It's the truth after all. The other ongoing crap that's happening globally as revealed by the guy from Shiller is what many of us have been writing and discussing for the last 30+ years, since the Cold War's supposed demise. Since that time, Outlaw US Empire policy has been one BigLie after another. Yes, the Neoliberal Parasites stand to lose as the menu they have to choose from is rapidly shrinking. Black Rock can't have its stolen Ukrainian land so it wants to destroy humanity?!? The op/ed by Trumpjr and RFKjr in The Hill was from 17 September and isn't nearly current enough. One thing to note. The prof's powerpoint presentation didn't include any ABM activity from Russia while we know that it has the ability to knock down a very large percentage of the incoming--and many of those US missiles won't properly function. The idiot admiral needs to be cashiered as Scott said.

Capitulation is a fine idea but the UKUSA will only accept that strategy when it must and then it needs to be masqueraded as some 'noble victory of common sense'. See the Venetians in the late 1500's.

So we have a table with lots of cards laid down for view - an open misere - but the UKUSA refuse to see the cards they hate such as the Russian proposal to shrink nato to its 1991 boundary, reinstate missile treaties, free trade between nations, multipolarity and respect for civilisation states, Slavic and Chinese diplomacy as supreme. The UKUSA can accept nothing other than zero sum - the other party must capitulate or die - we are strong, they are weak.

The UKUSA elite MUST obtain Ukraine and Russian lands/resources to somehow hedge or balance the books for another century. They only think in these short terms when absolutely pressed and they sure are pressed right now by the mountain of derivatives and empty credit worthy inventions. Normally they plot and scheme long term horizons but the scheme of derivatives and stock market rigging is looking a tad threadbare these days and demands attention beyond their capacity to rescue.

The UKUSA and vassals absolutely need their populaces to be available to tax and pay their immediate operating costs for interest but they MUST HAVE the natural resource plunder to offset the lunacy of the derivative mountain. Plus they cannot make a concession to the people of their own lands and keep face - so they send in the clown as President.

So they may well go for broke here because they have been completely outmaneuvered by Russia and the East. We now have BRICS, exchange currency trading, aversion to the $US and momentum behind Eastern settlement mechanisms outside both the view and the interaction of the $US and UKUSA trade intelligence systems. This is possibly fatal for the five centuries of post Venetian capital accumulation through their design and evolution to neoliberal economic totalitarianism.

Their new world, rules based order no sooner arrived and has been almost immediately eclipsed by the Marxist virus that evolved from the ancient collectives and the power of the people of the commons. The overlords are are pissed! and they wont let go easy and they will not be seen overtly to capitulate.

Tongue out of cheek now: “By the way, it might be useful if there was an accidental leak of ‘secret’ targets for elimination on European NATO members territories. Concentrate their minds a bit.” [21 Nov pre-Oreshnik]

Putin: “We will determine the targets during further tests of our advanced missile systems based on the threats to the security of the Russian Federation.”

Poland, Rumania, Ramstein, ’British’ Cyprus, …

Indulging in tit-for-tat atrocities is being controlled by the blood-feud provocateurs. Russia isn’t biting, neither are Iran, Syria or any of the other abused countries of the new Mutuality and their diplomacy. Thus the world seems relatively safe from impulsive idiocy.

Putin: “So let's do it.” Startrek Picard: “Make it so.”

‘Necessity is the mother of invention.’

American-provoked necessity has spawned Russian invention to the West’s detriment.

The difference between American and Russian offensive behaviour is illustrated thus:

The Russian non-nuclear demonstration in Dnipro was on an active military-industrial location, excluding civilians.

Killing civilians has no military advantage, is logistically pointless, and unnecessarily wastes meteriel. Its only motive is punitive nastiness, as in unilateral blood-feud, an impossible mental object.

When Americans obliterated the civilian populations of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, they did so as an immoral lethal alternative to dropping their nuclear bomb on Tokyo Bay. The resulting tsunami would have been demonstration enough. They didn’t need either their first nor their second transcendental war-crime to stop the war.

The current instigators of the West’s belligerence seem to have infantile delusions of omnipotence.

Fortunately the Russian leadership is neither infantile nor stupid and will not be provoked into disastrous responses.

UK/US aim was always Primacy--ascendency over all things and keeping it.: Full Spectrum Domination. Russia on the other hand, has never sought Primacy. Yes, it had some strategic Imperial aims when it proudly declared itself an Empire during the Age of Empires, but once it attained Black Sea access, that drive ceased. What territory the USSR gained was the result of its defense of itself. Zero-sum goals were never Russian aims, unlike the UK/US. Modern Neoliberal Parasitism was born in @1875 in the UK and transferred to the US in @1890. Neither Teddy Roosevelt nor Taft had any clue about its nature, but Wilson did, and the four-way election of 1912 had the very detrimental outcome of making Wilson president. And so, here we are today. A very good question that I'm beginning to investigate is if FDR sought Primacy. IMO, the answer lies in an examination of his conduct as Assistant Navy Secretary during WW1. That means digging into the archives.
